5 Insider SeaWorld Orlando Travel Tips

A day at SeaWorld is a day filled with attractions, shows, and some very cool rides! In order to make the best of your time there, I’ve compiled a list of 5 SeaWorld Orlando travel tips to keep in mind when planning your visit.
TICKETS
Purchasing tickets in advance can save you some money! Check the SeaWorld website because as of the date of this article, they are offering up to $20 off per ticket if you order your tickets online in advance! Also, if you plan on spending a few days of your vacation at different SeaWorld-related parks such as Aquatica, Busch Gardens, and Adventure Island, think about purchasing multi-park tickets!

PRE-PLAN YOUR COURSE OF ACTION
A few days before we visited SeaWorld, my family and I went to their site and mapped out our trip. We researched the times of shows we didn’t want to miss – our two favorites were Dolphin Days and Pets Ahoy.

Check the weather. The time of year will dictate somewhat as to what the weather will be like, but it’s good to check a few days before you plan to visit just in case there’s a cold front (like the day we went!) or rain in the forecast. We pack inexpensive ponchos in our backpack – just in case! Also, Antarctica, Empire of the Penguin is a bit chilly inside so keep that in mind!

SUN PROTECTION
You are visiting a park in Florida – the sunshine state – so be sure to pack sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses. Even though the park has these items for purchase, I recommend buying them ahead of time and save some money!
LODGING
If you’re looking for a hotel, check out the deals that SeaWorld offers when you buy a vacation package! Benefits of booking one of their packages includes:
- Possible free night (depending on how long you stay)
- Free Quick Queue – this is SO worth it if you are going during the busy time of the year (winter – spring)
- Reserved seating at the shows – be up front and center (and possibly in the splash zone!) for their premiere shows!
- 10% off food and merchandise
FOR THE RIDE LOVERS
Try to aim for riding the more popular rides during popular show times. We waited until One Ocean was in full effect to attempt Kraken. You can also purchase Quick Queue passes to skip the line.
SEAWORLD ORLANDO TRAVEL TIPS!

So, when are you booking your next vacation to SeaWorld Orlando? If you’ve been there in the past, which exhibit or ride is your favorite?
P.S. How cute is this mama duck and her ducklings that we found on the way to the Pets Ahoy show?

great tips! love the pictures
Thanks, Kim!
I haven’t been to Orlando in years. I miss going it was so much fun. I grew up in South Florida and we would go at least once a month. The mama duck is so adorable.
How fun! We live in San Antonio so we go to the Sea World here all the time. It’s not as big as the one in Orlando, but there’s still lots to do. We enjoy the animals.
OH my goodness, your photos are bringing back fond memories. I took the kids to SeaWorld in Orlando when they were small but we’ve not gone back. I’d love to plan another trip there. I bet there is so much more to see and do now than there was back then.
Terri, a lot of the park is like how you remember it when you took your kids which is nice to relive. THEN, they also have a lot of new attractions and rides which makes it cool!
It’s a fantastic place, indeed. Hope it is going to be our next summer trip.
You’d love it!
Seaworld is somewhere I would love to go one day, it sounds like such an amazing and educational place to visit. Perhaps I will manage to make it one day!
Wonderful post and tips! I always try to plan in advance and book the tickets, it can save so much time and energy.
Thanks, Louise! Buying tickets in advance to a lot of attractions can save you $$! I think of it as extra spending money for the boys or a sweet treat for me!
Thank you, Louise!

I was in Orlando many years ago and spent a day at sea world. It’s an amazing place with so much to see. I would liked to have spent longer in Orlando. There’s so much to do
You could definitely spend a week in Orlando and still want to stay longer to do all that it has to offer!
I love going to theme parks although I’m not a big fan of rides (but my husband is!). Haven’t been to Orlando. I supposed a week stay is good enough? Or there’s just too many to explore?
These are great tips. I would definitely use them when I visit seaworld. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure, Ophelia!
It’s always helpful to get the inside scoop. The vacation package really sounds like the way to go. You get all the extras including extra fun in the park. Can’t wait to see those cute penguins in person!
I try to look for all-inclusive packages when we travel because it takes the guesswork out of a lot of variables like travel, etc.
These tips are great! I think it would be super fun to see all of those marine animals. Thanks for sharing.
