Tips for Healthy Living

Good health is something that we should all aim for. It’s not always easy to stay healthy, but with a bit of effort, it’s doable. This blog post will discuss some tips for leading a healthy life. Looking after your health is not only what you eat or don’t and staying fit. Here are some health tips many people tend to neglect.

Test Your Thyroid Function

The thyroid is a small gland in your neck that helps control your metabolism. It makes hormones that help the body use energy and produce proteins. A healthy thyroid is essential for keeping your weight under control, maintaining strong bones, and having enough energy. An under or overactive thyroid can cause havoc in your body. These might include symptoms like dry skin, losing hair, extreme weight gain or loss even when living a healthy lifestyle, foggy brain, and joint and muscle pains.

Take A Multivitamin

A multivitamin is a dietary supplement that contains many vitamins and minerals. It can be helpful to take one every day, especially if you don’t eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Multivitamins can help fill in the gaps in your diet and ensure that you’re getting all the nutrients your body needs.

Visit Your Dentist Twice A Year

Oral health is often overlooked, but it’s incredibly important. Visiting your dentist twice a year for a check-up is the best way to ensure that any problems are caught early on. It’s also an excellent opportunity to get your teeth cleaned and polished. Gum disease can cause serious health problems if it’s left untreated. Your risk for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes is higher if you have gum diseases, so make sure you visit your dentist at least twice a year. Whites Dental Care offers various dental services, from general check-ups to teeth whitening.

Keep Your Immunizations Up To Date

Immunizations are one of the best ways to protect yourself from disease. Make sure you keep your immunizations up to date by checking with your doctor or local health department. Like the flu shot, some immunizations need to be updated every year. Like the HPV vaccine, others need to be updated every few years. Drink Less Or No Alcohol

One simple way to improve your health is by reducing or eliminating alcohol consumption. Alcohol can harm your overall health, including blood pressure, heart health, and weight. It can also increase the risk of developing cancer and other diseases. If you drink alcohol, try to stick to moderate amounts and avoid binge drinking.

Keep Your Brain Healthy Too!

As parents, we often put the needs of our kids before our own. This can take the form of putting our physical health as well as our mental health on the backburner. Maintaining your physical health is so important, but keeping your mind healthy and stimulated is important for your well-being and your ability to parent well. Keeping your mind healthy can look like a lot of things. Whether it’s meditation, talking to a therapist, or enrolling in one of our rigorous graduate programs, keeping your mind and body in shape will do wonders for your and your family’s well-being.

Living a healthy life can be difficult, but it is worth it in the end. By following these simple tips, you can make small changes that will significantly impact your overall health. Make sure to drink plenty of water, get enough exercise, and eat a balanced diet. These are all essential for maintaining good health, and they are easy to incorporate into your everyday life. Just make sure to take it one step at a time, and don’t try to do too much at once. These tips will help you stay on track and live a healthier life.

SATURDAYS ARE FOR STELLA ❤️

Oh, hello there 👋 in case you’re new to my feed, this is Stella. She is an almost 3 year old goldendoodle from Stella, NC. No, we didn’t name her Stella because of the city she was born in. That was a complete coincidence!

She goes by many names - Stella, Stelladoodle, Stu Diddy, Stu, and Moose. Don’t ask 😂 (and whether she responds to any of those names is completely up to her.)

She’s finally graduating the puppy stages (I hope), but it is known that if you’re over and
👟you leave your shoes unattended
👜bag open
🧦socks on the floor
🧻towels in reaching distance to her counter surfing
🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️you’ll be running circles around the house after her. Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉

Today we celebrated the life of Heather McMechan, someone I am eternally grateful came into my life, and devastated has left this earth. The church was filled with people that loved her - not one person that crossed her path couldn’t NOT love her.

Forever in my heart ❤️
