Body Confidence for New Moms: Dress to Impress
Motherhood. They say it’s the time of your life when you blossom into complete womanhood, and certainly, we all have friends who seem to flourish when they’re expecting and simply radiate after a new arrival to the family. But let’s face it – between exhausting nights, days, and the stresses of becoming a new parent – not to mention the birthing process itself which carries a whole storm of hormonal changes and weight fluctuations – we probably don’t feel as attractive as we used to. For new moms, looking great is probably the last on our list of priorities but that doesn’t mean we don’t fancy the odd night out now and then. And when we do decide to venture out the door of the mom cave, we want to look our best.
Embrace Your New Beauty
If there is one thing that we’re still getting used to as women, it’s that time changes us, and we’re always reminded of it. But hold on a moment. You are beautiful. You may not be perfect, but who needs perfection when beauty comes in all shapes and sizes? While there is nothing wrong with getting yourself back to your comfortable body size, you should also take pride in your new role and stride with confidence.
Easier said than done, right? Well, it’s actually easy to feel good, and the key starts with how you feel in yourself. Have confidence, will conquer – and you can make some good headway by being comfortable. Easy, loose-fitting clothes which are easy to wear and wash are a no-brainer here and can be purchased at discount stores, outlet malls, or online at places which cater for women of all shapes and sizes like Le Jolie, where you can find designer clothes for less instead of paying far-fetched prices on a family budget. You can look good and feel great without having to endure the kind of awkward clothing which no mother in her right mind would attempt to adorn – and this goes for other accessories too, like easy to carry, light purses and the be-all-or-end-all of our days – underwear.
Go Casual
Of course, it’s not all about the dress. You can go casual with a pair of loose-fitting, worn-out jeans and totally get away with it – after all, today is the day when a pair of ripped denims is welcomed pretty much anywhere, and you can even find slacks which are hot-looking and as pleasurable for lounging around in as well as working out. And while being a typical mom is a workout in itself, it’s important to set aside some time and treat yourself to some good, stress-releasing exercise. It’s easy to throw aside your own health for the sake of motherhood but your own wellbeing counts just as much – so resist the urge for fast food and make sure you continue with a balanced diet and a good run now and then, and top it off with some pampering at the spa.
At the end of the day, not just comfortable clothes count. It’s how you feel within yourself – when you feel good, you’ll look great, and clothes will simply be a compliment to that!
