Our wine collection started somewhat by accident. We received a bottle of 2000 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay as a wedding gift. Not knowing what to do with it at the time, we saved it in the super cute box it came in and are so glad we did!
On our honeymoon was when we really started to enjoy wine. We went to Italy and carafe after carafe was better than the one before. I wish we went to vineyards when we were there, but now we definitely have something to do when we go back!
Once we were back in the states, we would try out different wines when we went out to dinner. If we tasted a glass we liked, we would remember the name and then go to the liquor store and pick some up. In conversations with friends, we would learn of labels to try out and have found some wonderful bottles that way as well.
Or 10th anniversary was a huge treat as it was celebrated in Napa Valley. We learned so much about the different wines, how to store the bottles, what glass to use with which wine type, which wines to cellar and why…it was awesome!
