I love Target. There was a time that I would visit a Target practically every day during lunchtime. The scene would go down like this:
Me (calling my husband): Babe, do we need anything from Target?
Husband: No, we’re good.
Next day:
Me (calling my husband): Babe, do we need anything from Target?
Husband: No, we’re good. You’re there AGAIN?
This would go on all week long. Every week. I’d come home with the needed nonperishable items along with a new shirt, or a cardigan because it was cold in the office, or something for the boys, or a birthday gift for the upcoming birthday party we were invited to. There was always something I would find that I needed. (The definition of “needed” being used loosely here.) If I could tell you how badly I wish I had the Target REDCard then…
Now, I have the REDCard. No I don’t go to Target everyday like I used to, but we do go at least once a week. That REDCard really saves us money. You automatically get 5% off at the register when you pay with the REDCard. Couple that with their Cartwheel app and any coupons you may have, and it is a sweet deal!
What’s also great about the REDCard is that you can apply for one of two different versions of the card. There is the card that is “attached” to your checking account. It’s like a bank debit card with a pretty front design to it. Let’s say you purchase $20 worth of stuff – the $20 gets debited from your checking account. You don’t have to worry about monthly bills to pay. AND you get the 5% off at checkout.
The second version is the Target credit card. This card you can only use at Target and it is run similar to a conventional credit card.
Besides the 5% off in the store, you also reap the benefits online. If you pay with your Target card, you get 5% off your Target online purchase AND free shipping. Who doesn’t love free shipping? There have been times when I am perusing through a magazine and I find a new beauty product that I want to try but I don’t feel like getting off my butt to go to the store. I order it on Target’s site, get the 5% off and free shipping and it is delivered to my door. Hey, I saved gas and energy AND 5%. Yes, I am that lazy sometimes.
What’s even nicer is that up to 1% of your purchases with the card go to the school of your choice. That means a lot to me and my kids!
You can also check your card balance, pay your bill and do all sorts of account-related things online.
I feel like it was a no-brainer to get the Target REDCard. If you’re interested, you can apply in-store or online! Just click the banner below and you are on your way to saving money!
