Trying to Do it All? Here’s What to Do When You’re Overwhelmed

Trying to Do it All? Here’s What to Do When You’re Overwhelmed

Being a working mom is hard. You’re trying to juggle a million things at once, and it can be tough to keep everything straight. It’s not surprising that you may find yourself feeling a little overwhelmed in life. There’s a lot of pressure on us to ‘do it all’ and feeling the need to can really lead to burnout. But does it really have to be that way? And what can we do about it? If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’ve come to the right place. In this blog post, we’re going to take a look at a few things you can do to get yourself back on track.

1. Make a List of Everything You Need to Do

This may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s important to get all of your thoughts down on paper (or in your phone). Once everything is out of your head and in front of you, you’ll be able to see what needs to be done and you can start crossing things off your list. It will take the mental pressure and confusion away from you and allow you to get started.

2. Find a System That Works for You

Some people like using a physical planner, while others prefer using an app on their phone. Find what works best for you and stick with it. Having all of your tasks in one place will help you stay organized and on top of everything that needs to be done. Feeling more organized can really make a difference to the overwhelm.

3. Set Aside Some Me Time

With everything going on, it’s important to take some time for yourself every now and then. Whether it’s taking a bath, reading your favorite book, or going for a walk, making time for yourself will help you recharge and refocus so that you can be your best self for your family and your job. Having that balance can be the keep to keeping calm.

4. Ask for Help When You Need it

Whether it’s asking your spouse to pick up the slack at home or hiring a babysitter so that you can get some work done, don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. You can even look to hire a cleaner full tie or procure dog waste removal to take a load off your plate. Knowing those jobs are taken care of can reduce the pressure on you. Overall, delegating tasks will help lighten your load and make things more manageable.

5. Take Breaks When You Need Them

If you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed, take a few deep breaths or step away from whatever it is that you’re doing. It’s okay to take a break; in fact, it might be exactly what you need to get yourself back on track. Just remember that you’ve got this—and to give yourself some grace!

Being a working mom is challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, take some time for yourself and ask for help when you need it—you’re not in this alone!
