13 Tips For Making Your Move To Your New Home Across The Country Easier

Moving is always a hectic time, especially across the country. There are so many things to do and remember. Unfortunately, it can be easy to forget something important. Here are ten tips to make your move a little easier.

Start Packing Early

The earlier you start packing, the less stressed you will be closer to the moving date. Plus, it will give you more time to go through everything and decide what you want to keep and what you can get rid of.

Make A List

Making a list of everything you need to do will help you stay organised and on track. Write down everything, from packing your boxes to changing your address. That way, you can check things off as you go and not have to worry about forgetting anything.

Pack An Essentials Bag

Packing an essential bag is crucial for a moving day. This bag should include things like your toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and any medications you might need. That way, you can have everything you need in one place and not rummage through boxes looking for things.

Label Your Boxes

Labelling your boxes is essential for two reasons. First, it will help you keep track of what is in each box. Second, it will make unpacking more manageable because you will know where everything goes.

Be Prepared For The Unexpected

No matter how well you plan, there is always a chance something could go wrong on moving day. So just in case, be prepared for this by having a backup plan and some extra cash.

Get Help From Friends And Family

Get some help from your friends and family on moving day if you can. They can help you with things like packing and lifting heavy boxes. Just be sure to return the favour when they move!

Use Professionals

Using professionals really can make it easier. Interstate removalists will have the experience and muscle to get your belongings from A to B quickly. They will also come equipped with the right tools and materials to ensure everything is moved safely.

Hire A Cleaning Service

One of the best things you can do after moving is to hire a professional cleaning service. This way, you don’t have to worry about cleaning your old place and can focus on getting settled into your new home.

Take Breaks

Moving is exhausting, both mentally and physically. Be sure to take breaks throughout the day to rest and relax. This will help you stay focused and avoid getting overwhelmed.

Start Unpacking As Soon As You Can

Once you get to your new home, start unpacking as soon as possible. This will help you feel more settled and less stressed. Plus, it will allow you to start making your new place feel like home.

Get Rid Of Boxes

As soon as you unpack a box, get rid of it. There’s no need to keep empty boxes around, and getting rid of them will free up some much-needed space.

Take Your Time

Last but not least, take your time with everything. Moving is a significant process, and it’s essential not to rush through it. If you take your time and do things right, the whole process will be a lot less stressful.

Take Some Time For Yourself

After all the work of moving is done, be sure to take some time. Maybe take a day off from unpacking and explore your new neighborhood. Or have a relaxing night with a good book. Whatever you do, make sure to give yourself a break. You deserve it!

Now that you’ve moved, it’s time to start making your new house a home. These tips will help you settle in and adjust to your new surroundings. Soon enough, you’ll feel right at home in no time. Thanks for reading! I hope

SATURDAYS ARE FOR STELLA ❤️

Oh, hello there 👋 in case you’re new to my feed, this is Stella. She is an almost 3 year old goldendoodle from Stella, NC. No, we didn’t name her Stella because of the city she was born in. That was a complete coincidence!

She goes by many names - Stella, Stelladoodle, Stu Diddy, Stu, and Moose. Don’t ask 😂 (and whether she responds to any of those names is completely up to her.)

She’s finally graduating the puppy stages (I hope), but it is known that if you’re over and
👟you leave your shoes unattended
👜bag open
🧦socks on the floor
🧻towels in reaching distance to her counter surfing
🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️you’ll be running circles around the house after her. Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉

Today we celebrated the life of Heather McMechan, someone I am eternally grateful came into my life, and devastated has left this earth. The church was filled with people that loved her - not one person that crossed her path couldn’t NOT love her.

Forever in my heart ❤️
