How To Make the Best of Summer Vacation with the Kids

The countdown to the summer vacation begins, when the kids finish school and you suddenly find yourself juggling mompreneur duties along with being a domestic goddess, whilst trying to entertain some bored kids. So being able to organize yourself before this moment arrives will certainly prevent you from tearing your hair out.

Plan Days Out

Organizing some days out in advance will give the kids something to look forward to, as well as allowing you to organize your work schedule around the days you need to take off. This will also be a lot less stressful than trying to book tickets for an activity nearer the time only to find that they are sold out, leaving you with some very bored and disappointed kids.

Give The Kids Activities To Do

Inevitably there are going to be days where you really do need to crack on with work. If this involves working from home it will certainly be a little easier and provide fewer distractions if you can give the kids some creative activities to keep them occupied. A fun science experiment, baking cupcakes, drawing/painting, or watching a film they enjoy will keep them occupied for a little while whilst you complete your work tasks.

Pack In Advance

If you are jet-setting off somewhere else this summer for a much-needed family vacation, it will be useful to start planning now what you will need to pack. Check whether you need to buy any new items such as trendy baby clothing, sunscreen, shoes, or beachwear. This will prevent you from hastily making a trip to the store at the last minute as you realize you do not have the essential items for your family vacation.

Create Time To Relax

You need to allow yourself time to relax as well during the summer vacation, otherwise, you are just going to feel drained and more stressed out. When you have some quiet days at home with the kids, whilst they are keeping occupied with playing outside in the garden or doing a creative activity, do something you enjoy yourself, at the same time. Whether it is reading a book, having a bubble bath, cooking, or watching your favorite tv show, allow yourself some ‘me time’ to relax too.

Enjoy Time With Your Kids

If you are constantly working you are not going to get the opportunity to spend some quality time with your kids. You want to be able to cherish these moments with your little ones. They will enjoy doing activities with you, whether it is helping to bake bread, assisting you with a household chore, or chasing them in the backyard. You will miss these precious moments when they are all grown up and will want to spend time with their friends instead of you. So enjoy as much as you can now before they grow up so quickly.

SATURDAYS ARE FOR STELLA ❤️

Oh, hello there 👋 in case you’re new to my feed, this is Stella. She is an almost 3 year old goldendoodle from Stella, NC. No, we didn’t name her Stella because of the city she was born in. That was a complete coincidence!

She goes by many names - Stella, Stelladoodle, Stu Diddy, Stu, and Moose. Don’t ask 😂 (and whether she responds to any of those names is completely up to her.)

She’s finally graduating the puppy stages (I hope), but it is known that if you’re over and
👟you leave your shoes unattended
👜bag open
🧦socks on the floor
🧻towels in reaching distance to her counter surfing
🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️you’ll be running circles around the house after her. Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉

Today we celebrated the life of Heather McMechan, someone I am eternally grateful came into my life, and devastated has left this earth. The church was filled with people that loved her - not one person that crossed her path couldn’t NOT love her.

Forever in my heart ❤️
