Patriotic Fruit Salad!

Holidays such as Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day to name a few are synonymous with get togethers with family and friends. That usually entails making something that evokes the spirit of the holiday. For this past Memorial Day (and probably for every other patriotic holiday moving forward), I made a really cute and delicious patriotic fruit salad. It was super easy!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Star-shaped cookie cutter
- Blueberries (amount depends on the number of guests expected)
- Watermelon
- Lychee
This is all you have to do:
- Cut the water melon into slices. I used a seedless watermelon, so if you are using a seeded one, you can pick the seeds out if you’d like.
- With the star-shaped cookie cutter, make as many stars as you can. You can save the extra watermelon to make watermelon water (or watermelon-infused vodka for the after party).
- Clean the blueberries. We found some nice-sized ones at the farmer’s market – they were really yummy too!
- Peel the lychee and remove the pits. Luckily, there was a stand set up near our house selling lychee – so odd, BUT perfect timing!
- Put all ingredients onto a tray or into a bowl.
You’re done! Seriously…it is the easiest, cutest fruit salad to make.
How super easy and fun is this salad! Love the colors!
Thanks Leah! It was delicious too 😉
So yummy & pretty! Perfect for summer time.
I agree with you, Asheley. Watermelon is so refreshing! And lychee is my new fave fruit.
This looks super yummy. I’m not American, but I will definitely be making some fruit salad!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Samantha, you can use any shape cookie cutter for the watermelon, and add any other complimentary fruit! That’s what’s so nice about this fruit Saks!
Yum! Looks great for the 4th. I can’t believe it’s almost here!
Shann, I hear you! This year is flying by!
What an adorable salad! I love 4th of July and doing all the Patriotic themed bbq ideas!
Thanks Chelsie! It was delicious and cute 😉
I’ve never heard of Lychee, how weird! But I will try this, star cookie cutters are a GREAT idea!
Kristen, I hadn’t heard of lychee until my husband came home from Hong Kong and was telling me all about it. There are a few varieties, but I think the sweetest one is called sweetheart.
I love lychees! Thanks for linking up with #JoyHopeLive this week.
I love lychee too! My husband introduced them to me – and I didn’t know there were so many varieties either!
Anything with lychee sounds good to me. And how perfect for the upcoming holiday! Thanks for linking up at the Manic Mondays blog hop!
Glad you liked it Meredith!! 🙂
