You never know who you are going to meet at your workplace. When the company that I work for merged with another company, one of the upsides was that I was able to meet some new people along the way. My first visit to the PA office was interesting – trying to remember names, positions, where the bathroom was there in relation to the office LOL.
One person in particular that made a great impression was Rebecca. At the time she was the Sales Marketer for one of our brands and I met with her to see what our customers were like, what she did to make their experience with our customers a great one. Her kindness shone through, and we talked about glasses (Warby Parker :)) and her love of art. Shortly after our meeting, Becky was hired onto my team and I got to know her a lot better.
Rebecca Gottesman received her B.F.A. from Otis College of Art and Design, majoring in Fine Arts: Painting, with an emphasis in art education. Born and Raised in Southern California, Rebecca quickly developed an interest in pop-culture, and decoding the various messages hidden within popular imagery. This interest is ever present in Rebecca’s work, as it usually is the main focus in her paintings and drawings. Rebecca has shown in various group shows in Los Angeles, which include “Mint” at Patrick Painter Gallery, Melrose, and art festivals as well. Although a majority of her work touches on sensitive issues within westernized society, Rebecca also strives for a sense of community within her art practice. Many of her works include images and concepts that are recognizable and relatable to may different types of audiences.
Her creativity and love of art has brought her to create her very own Etsy shop to showcase her talent. If you ask her to describe herself, she would say:
I’m an artist/sticker enthusiast currently living in Philadelphia, PA. I am obsessed with combining images that don’t necessarily go together, but once combined, can create a really interesting and fun narrative. I make stickers, prints, paintings, t-shirts, and much more!
Here are some examples of her art:
