How To Make Your Theme Party Stand Out From The Rest

It’s that time of year again. Time to dust off your old party clothes and start planning for the next theme party. If you want to ensure that yours is one of the best parties this season, here are a few tips on how to do it.

1. Choose A Theme

Choosing a theme for your party is the first step in making it a success. Themes provide a focus for your decorations, food, and games, so it’s crucial to pick one that will be fun for your guests. If you’re not sure where to start, here are a few popular party themes to get you started:

  • A night at the movies
  • Casino night
  • Hawaiian luau
  • Mexican
  • Mardi Gras parade
  • Murder mystery party

2. Decorate For Your Theme

Once you’ve chosen a theme, it’s time to start decorating. This is where you can really let your imagination run wild and create an environment that your guests will love. Pinterest is an excellent source of inspiration for party decorations, or you can check out some of these ideas:

  • Turn your home into a movie theater by hanging large screens and using popcorn boxes and movie posters as décor.
  • Create a casino atmosphere with gaming tables, fake money, and playing cards.
  • Set up a Hawaiian hula dance area with palm trees, leis, and sandals.
  • Transform your home into a Mexican cantina with sombreros, chili peppers, and colorful streamers.
  • Decorate in Mardi Gras style with masks, beads, and purple, green, and gold decorations.
  • Host a murder mystery party and set the scene with fake blood, weapons, and clues.

3. Serve Themed Food

Once you’ve created the perfect party atmosphere, it’s time to think about the food. The best way to ensure that your guests will enjoy their evening is to serve food that matches the theme of your party. You can check out recipeworkbook.com for amazing recipes, or here are some more ideas for themed food:

  • For a night at the movies party, serve movie theater snacks like popcorn, candy, and soda.
  • For a casino party, serve casino favorites like chips and dip, chicken fingers, and mini pizzas.
  • For a Hawaiian luau party, serve island-inspired dishes like pineapple salsa, coconut shrimp, and piña coladas.
  • For a Mexican fiesta party, serve tacos, enchiladas, and margaritas.
  • For a Mardi Gras parade party, serve Cajun dishes like jambalaya and gumbo.
  • For a murder mystery party, serve finger foods like pizza squares and chicken nuggets.

4. Play Themed Games

What’s a party without games? Games are a great way to get your guests involved and help them have fun. Choose games that match the theme if you want to add an extra layer of excitement to your party. Here are some ideas for themed games:

  • For a night at the movies party, play movie trivia or watch clips from famous movies.
  • Play blackjack, poker, or other casino games for a casino party.
  • For a Hawaiian luau party, put on a hula dance contest or play traditional island games like coconut bowling.
  • For a Mexican fiesta party, play pinata whack-a-mole or limbo.
  • For a Mardi Gras parade party, play games like Mardi Gras bingo or toss a bean bag into a parade float.
  • For a murder mystery party, have your guests solve clues to figure out who the killer is.

5. Have Fun With Your Theme

The most important thing is to have fun with your theme and let your imagination run wild. Choose decorations, food, and games that you and your guests enjoy. With these tips, you’re sure to throw a theme party that will be remembered for years!

SATURDAYS ARE FOR STELLA ❤️

Oh, hello there 👋 in case you’re new to my feed, this is Stella. She is an almost 3 year old goldendoodle from Stella, NC. No, we didn’t name her Stella because of the city she was born in. That was a complete coincidence!

She goes by many names - Stella, Stelladoodle, Stu Diddy, Stu, and Moose. Don’t ask 😂 (and whether she responds to any of those names is completely up to her.)

She’s finally graduating the puppy stages (I hope), but it is known that if you’re over and
👟you leave your shoes unattended
👜bag open
🧦socks on the floor
🧻towels in reaching distance to her counter surfing
🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️you’ll be running circles around the house after her. Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉

Today we celebrated the life of Heather McMechan, someone I am eternally grateful came into my life, and devastated has left this earth. The church was filled with people that loved her - not one person that crossed her path couldn’t NOT love her.

Forever in my heart ❤️
