I would like more than anything to substitute my tall iced coffee, soy and one sweet n low with tea but I can’t seem to get myself to do so. Even to the point of buying my husband a cool electric tea maker for Christmas (see ladies…there are ways to reciprocate for those times you got a camera/vacuum/TV as a gift).
I had heard that tea bags are also good for reducing inflammation under your eyes and thought there may be some other uses for those tea bags…let’s discuss.
Ever experience sunburn but don’t have aloe available? Soak some tea bags and place them on the crisp areas. I heard that the wet tea bags are also good for minor burns from clothing irons (I wish I knew this sooner…) or a hot pan.
Tannic acid within the tea is what helps soreness. Let’s say your little baby just got her shots – hold a wet tea bag gently on the spot until her crying stops. This should help to soothe your little one!
Have a toothache? Make a cup of my favorite tea – peppermint – and mix it with a bit of salt. Rinse and repeat. The peppermint is an antiseptic, along with the menthol which alleviates pain on contact.
Loose green tea leaves or tea bags are great deodorizers. Cutting garlic or onions and your hands smell like it? Before washing with soap and water, rub your hands with the tea…tell me what you think?
I’ve read numerous times that tea is great for cleaning wood floors or furniture. Brew some super strong tea and then with a clean rag, wipe the schmutz away!
Love to drink tea and have a lot of used tea bags in the garbage? Instead of tossing them in the garbage, simply steep them in water and then use the water to feed your house plants.
Have stinky shoes? Place an unwrapped (unused) tea bag in each shoe.
If you have brown hair, a way to naturally enhance your color is rinsing with tea!
You know how I mentioned the tannic acids of tea help with soreness? That is what attributes tea to being a great meat tenderizer. Marinate the meat of your choice with tea and see how tender it can be!
Do you know of any other uses for tea? I’d love to know!
