Welcome to Womanpreneur Wednesday!

I am very excited to announce a new series on Pellerini – Womanpreneur Wednesday!  Each Wednesday I am going to introduce you to a new womanpreneur – a lady that I admire for a variety of reasons.  It could be her:

  • Motivation
  • Determination
  • Dedication
  • Innovation

to name just a few!  I hope you enjoy getting to know each of these ladies, as I have!  Feel free to connect with them on social media or send them an email to say, “hi”.  I’m all about networking, connecting, and creating newfound friends.

MEET FATIMA!

Fatima and I met back in 2014 at a media event and the rest is history!  She has helped me in many ways with my blog and business in general. I admire her motivation and her honesty – she tells it how it is.

Fatima has been writing for Motherhood Through My Eyes for over 5 years, bringing thoughtful articles about everything from parenting to beauty to lifestyle!

When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a number of things growing up. At 10, I found my calling in writing and using words to tell other people’s stories.

How did you come up with the idea for Motherhood in My Eyes?

Months before giving birth to our first child, a former colleague suggested I start a mom blog. I thought it was silly since I had been focused on B2B marketing at the time. I did it anyway just to document my experience, not knowing it would lead to more opportunities.

What is the biggest struggle you’ve encountered as an entrepreneur and how did you solve it?

Trying to be there for my family and friends while juggling a business has been a challenge for me. I’ve learned that setting time aside for what matters is key. Focusing on the most important thing and taking it a day today is the best way to approach the juggling act.

What do you think are the pros and cons of being a womanpreneur?

Being available for the inevitable is a plus for myself and our family. The downside is trying to work around those moments.

Do you have any mentors or coaches that you work with?

Yes, other moms like yourself. <awwwwww, I love her!>  I love connecting with women entrepreneurs who are going through similar situations or have been able to get through them. It helps to get their perspective.

What advice would you give to someone reading this that has the entrepreneurial “itch”?

If you want to work fewer hours, then it’s not for you. The goal isn’t to work less, it’s to do what you love — over and over again. It’s exciting, stressful and so very worth it if you love what you do.

What is the secret to achieving a work-life balance for you?

Creating tentative schedules, I say tentative because nothing is ever set in stone.

How do you find inspiration?

I’m inspired by the beauty of life — the everyday hustle, the madness. You name it and I find a way to put it into a new idea for a pitch.

What is your favorite book?

Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom. It always reminds me of the time I fell in love with writing and my time volunteering at a nursing home. It taught me compassion.

What is your favorite quote?

“Love wins, love always wins.” —Morrie Schwartz

What do you do to decompress?

I call a family member. There’s nothing more uplifting than hearing a familiar voice on the other end.

Please connect with Fatima on her blog, Motherhood Through My Eyes, Instagram, and Facebook.

SATURDAYS ARE FOR STELLA ❤️

Oh, hello there 👋 in case you’re new to my feed, this is Stella. She is an almost 3 year old goldendoodle from Stella, NC. No, we didn’t name her Stella because of the city she was born in. That was a complete coincidence!

She goes by many names - Stella, Stelladoodle, Stu Diddy, Stu, and Moose. Don’t ask 😂 (and whether she responds to any of those names is completely up to her.)

She’s finally graduating the puppy stages (I hope), but it is known that if you’re over and
👟you leave your shoes unattended
👜bag open
🧦socks on the floor
🧻towels in reaching distance to her counter surfing
🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️you’ll be running circles around the house after her. Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉
#tbt A super fun night supporting the @juniorleag #tbt A super fun night supporting the @juniorleagueofbocaraton with my partner-in-crime @localmomscoop @fourmakers and @theaddison executive chef, Patrick Duffy.

Today we celebrated the life of Heather McMechan, someone I am eternally grateful came into my life, and devastated has left this earth. The church was filled with people that loved her - not one person that crossed her path couldn’t NOT love her.

Forever in my heart ❤️
