When were Rubber Ducks invented?
Rubber toys first appeared in the late 1800s, when manufacturers made use of Charles Goodyear’s process for rendering rubber into the malleable material. The first rubber ducks didn’t even float: they were cast solid and intended as chew toys.
What do you think of when you see a Rubber Ducky? The first thing that comes to my mind is the Rubber Ducky song and Ernie from Sesame Street. Ernie made rubber ducks very popular and an icon for taking a bath (and bubbles of course).

When I was pregnant with my older son and we registered for items at Toys R Us and Target, one of the things I made sure was on the list was a rubber ducky. Same with my youngest son!
