College is Just Around the Corner

It may sound a bit premature,  but before I know it both of my boys are going to be on their way to college.  I want to be prepared.  As soon as I could get a hold of a copy of their birth certificate, I signed them up for the Florida Pre-Paid Plan.  There are many other options you can choose as a savings vehicle for your childs’ college funding.

I just came across Instagrad and it seems quite interesting!  All you have to do is sign-up (for free), maybe add a picture of your little one and then share the link to their “college fundraising site” with family and friends.  If someone chooses to participate, then the money they give goes into the 529 plan that you designate (within 3-4 weeks) via an FDIC insured bank account.  There are no fees for the contributors and they can pay via Visa or American Express.

I especially like this idea because when the holidays come around and people ask what to get the boys, I immediately say “They don’t need any more toys”.  If I see another lego on the floor, I may scream.  How great would it be to just tell them to go to the link and give a gift of education????

College tuition is forecasted to double in the next 10 years.  Instagrad gives your child a leg up on ensuring higher education.  It’s definitely worth checking out.  Click HERE to learn more.
