Why You Need to Shop At Sprouts

When I learned that a new food market, Sprouts, was scheduled to open in my neighborhood I was a bit skeptical.  We had a handful within a few miles, so I wondered what Sprouts offered that would set them apart from the others.

Last week I was invited to a pre-Grand Opening media tour to get the inside skinny on this open-air indoor farmers market.

What Sets Sprout Apart

Produce, Produce, Produce

The first thing you see when entering Sprouts is the produce section.  That’s 100% on purpose. Why you may ask?  They pride themselves on this sea of colorful fruit and vegetables – both conventional and organic.  All affordable.

Perusing the produce aisles sparked some great meal ideas incorporating gorgeous purple cauliflower.  I picked up some organic green onion for the night’s dinner, huge artichokes to grill, and my little one’s favorite Gala apples.

Did I mention that the Brussel sprouts were HUGE and the asparagus was priced nicely?!

90% Natural and Organic

Their main focus is to provide natural and organic foods at affordable prices. I loved that there were quite a few local brands being showcased at our store – a granola company from Wellington, salsa and delicious gluten-free tortilla chips from Stuart – just to name a few!

Knowledge is Key

If you have any questions, their staff is uber knowledgable and helpful.  Sprouts invests in their staffs’ training and you can tell.

When I asked for some gluten-free snack options, the staff was more than eager to walk me over to a great selection.  I picked up a few!

Market Corner Deli

You read that right!  Handmade sandwiches crafted how you like for only $3.99.  Along with the sandwiches is a variety of grab-and-go items for a quick bite.  Rotisserie chicken, salads – you name it!

The Butcher Shop & Fish Market

Pick up freshly rolled tuna (the crunchy tuna roll was DELISH and super fresh) or opt for some of their amazing freshly-ground sausage options.  The butcher will hand-cut any piece of meat and offer suggestions based on your requests.

Health and Beauty

I was extremely impressed with the variety of health and beauty products offered.  You will find any vitamin, herb, and/or supplement under the sun on their shelves.  They were the first company that offers a refrigerated probiotics section!

Two cosmetics companies that I covet are offered there as well – Pacifica and Gabriel (the latter not just because that is my youngest son’s name).

  3. When is Sprouts coming to WV? Because we need one. We don’t have a lot of good options for fresh produce around here unless you’re growing it in your own garden. As a vegetarian I would go nuts in the produce section of this store.

  4. You can see the pride a store has in the care it gives in their displays. When they care that much about their displays it is obviously because they care what there customers think and they want to provide for them.
