Father’s Day is fast approaching and although research says people don’t spend nearly as much on Dad as they do on Mom. We need to equip those that dare defy the norm so that they can give Dad the very best this Father’s Day.
STRETCH IT OUT
These days everyone is hypersensitive when it comes to eating healthy and working out, but what about stretching? I’ve always been taught the importance of stretching – that in fact, you could hurt yourself more if you don’t stretch than if you do!
I was invited to visit Stretch Zone in Palm Beach Gardens – to try out a different perspective when it comes to flexibility. Rather than creating soreness by pulling on our limbs to extremes, the Stretch Zone Method® works through the nervous system to achieve lasting gains in flexibility and range of motion.
After having a brief discussion about my health history, my stretch practitioner discussed that the stretching is based on a scale of 1 – 10, with 3, 5 and 7 being important. Each area is stretched three times. The first time I was instructed to inform him when I was at a soft stretch or a “3”. The second time I was to inform him when it was a medium stretch, or a “5”. The third, and final stretch for that particular area, was a deep stretch, or a “7”.
I felt GREAT afterward – my lower back was looser, more relaxed, more fluid. Wouldn’t your dad enjoy to have the gift of:
- Feeling lighter and younger
- Enhancing his physical and athletic skills
- Increasing and maintaining his range of motion
- Relief from stiffness and soreness
You can gift him an individual stretch or a package, whatever suits your budget. He’d be grateful either way! Check out their website for more details!
MOVIE TIME
What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than to treat him to lunch or dinner and a movie! Movie Bistro, the brand new full-service restaurant at Cinemark 20 and XD in Boca Raton is the perfect place to take your dad! There are some great movies coming out too – Oceans Eight, Incredibles 2, and Solo to name a few.
The menu has something for everyone – Mahi Mahi, fresh Pan Seared Salmon, Fettuccine Alfredo, the Bistro Burger, juicy pulled pork sliders, and a number of vegetarian options including a Southwest Black Bean Burger, Rosemary Fries, Patatas Bravas, Fried Zucchini and more.
Grab a drink at the full-service bar and then grab your seats in one of the six Premier Level theatres. What great dad doesn’t deserve luxurious seating on the balconies?! All Premier Level movie tickets include seat-side tables to enjoy food and drinks during the movie, complimentary valet parking and small popcorn for each ticket holder. How great is that!?
Another cool gift idea for Dad would be to sign him up for the Cinemark Movie Club. For only $8.99 per month, you dad would get one 2D ticket per month. Cinemark offers a variety of gift card options online as well!
Check out the latest movie times and all of the Movie Bistro details and I’ll see you there!
Note that Movie Bistro and the Premier Level are 18+ after 5 p.m.
KEEP DAD CONNECTED
Just about everyone has a smartphone these days. They act as the main mode of communication, a music/video player, mini computer…as well as a plethora of other uses. Why not gift the dad in your life some accessories to keep him connected?
Worldnect, one of the leaders in online electronic accessory providers, has just about anything you can think of! My hubby loves his new car charger because it allows all of us to charge our devices in the car at the same time!
If your dad travels a lot, the noise-isolating over-the-ear headphones are a great choice. He can listen to music, watch an in-flight movie (or just drown out the surrounding noise on the flight).
Other great gift ideas include the Bluetooth wireless headphones, perfect for the dad on the go! I personally love the handsfree phone holder that I use both in the car and one on my desk!
HEALTHY MEALS
In line with the healthy habits we have been all incorporating into our daily lives, healthy eating is paramount. There are many meal delivery services out there, both national and local, and it can get somewhat confusing as to which one to choose.
I stumbled across a meal delivery service that isn’t your run-of-the-mill company. Farm Fresh Meals is more like an affordable private chef service that delivers. Their #1 goal is to influence families and homes with good, healthy food. By changing the stigmatism that healthy food doesn’t taste good, Chef Adam Potash has revolutionized the way the local community looks at what they eat!
Each month the menu changes and is filled with delicious, healthy lunches and dinners easily heated up when/if needed. I personally love that they use eco-friendly containers – looking out for both the environment as well as their clients’ health.
Check out the menu and/or call 561.223.1600 to see if they deliver in your area. New clients can get 20% off their first order by mentioning PELLERINI20. Purchase gift cards for Dad today!
ANCESTRY DNA
When I was younger I asked my parents where I came from. No, not the “Where do babies come from?” conversation, but rather nationality. My mom said Russia, my dad Italy. But are there other pieces to the puzzle?
How cool would it be if you gifted your dad insight into his ancestry? I am a big fan of ancestry.com, as I am working on my family tree. Ancestry.com now has an amazing promotion for Father’s Day – at only $69, your dad can find out more about his roots. Order the kit for him, and 6-8 weeks after he sends back his saliva sample the results will be available online.
PELLERINI ON THE NEWS!
Please check out my news segment highlighting each of the great gift ideas mentioned above!
I personally don’t think it’s fair that Mother’s Day gets more hype than Father’s Day. Gifting should be universal, even if it’s a card professing your admiration for the man that helped to mold you into the person you are today.

These are all such unique and fun ideas. I’ve been struggling to find something for my father for Fathers Day. I’m glad I found this post and I think I’m going to look more into the ancestry idea.

I’m glad the post could help you find a gift for your dad, Hollie!

These are some amazing ideas, I love the idea of a DNA kit – I got my Mum one for Mother’s Day a while back and one for my Dad would be perfect! Thank you.

The Ancestry gift is a really unique idea. Just make sure mom doesn’t have any secrets she wants to tell you first. You might be surprised! LOL
Dana says
Oh boy, that would be awkward!
Tia McKinzie says
my husband would be totally on board with the tech gifts, and I would really love to get him the ancestry kit though!

Tech gifts are always a great way to go!

I think my dad would love the Ancestry kit. He did some genealogy research years ago based on records but this seems much more accurate and interesting.
Dana says
It is a really cool way to find out about where your roots stem from!

Its was hard to shop for my dad because he would always say “No, I don’t need anything.” Followed by something super cheesy. This post was nice. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

This post is really helpful. It was always difficult to think of gifting something to my dad.
Charli Bruce says
These are some really great gifts, I’m sure any dad would be happy to get them x
Kristyn says
Great Father’s Day gift ideas these are. When it comes to gift giving, it’s always hard to find something for men.
Dana says
I feel the same way, Kristyn. My husband is so hard to shop for. When he needs something, he orders it online or grabs it from the store – leaving me with no good ideas!!
Leandro Mueller says
Great and awesome list, Dana! I particularly like the healthy meals idea and the ancestry DNA is most awesome. On the other hand, to make these gifts, extra special, you don’t have to wait for father’s day to make your father feel special. Give them one of the items n the list at random time or just give them the best every day or as much as you could. Aside from usual popular gifts that you can read in other list article posts, you can give your dad his need not just wants. Pay special attention to his health and healthcare needs. Health issues burden older dads; they don’t say it so you won’t have to worry about them. Father’s day is also Men’s health month, so I suggest you not to forget minding his health and ask him from time to time if he is ok.
Dana says
Thank you, Leandro! You are so right about dads not wanting to burden you with their ailments. It is super important to be mindful of their health and always ask!
Dena says
I like the idea of stretching. With loads of things to do, I think this is an important technique to keep our body’s circulation going.
Dana says
Agreed, Dena!
