A square of dark chocolate a day can actually help to sharpen your concentration! The flavanols in this delicious food are known to help with attention and mental skills. Definitely worth trying…I read somewhere that you should try to look for dark chocolate with at least 60% cacao.
I love sweet potatoes – it’s like eating dessert with dinner. The beta-carotene in this favorite side dish is a free-radical fighting antioxidant! Free radicals aid in the aging effects on your brain….we don’t want them so opt for sweet potato fries in lieu of the white potato kind!
Sunflower seeds are an ingredient in one of my favorite salads from Jason’s Deli – the Nutty Mixed-Up Salad. I didn’t know this but these seeds contain vitamin E – an antioxidant, like the beta-carotene in the sweet potato –that fights the free-radicals! I read that one ounce a day is a good amount to consume to reap the rewards.
