Must Have Moisturizers for Cold Weather
Cold weather wrecks havoc on my skin.  I don’t think I can get enough moisturizer these days.  I stay away from any products that contain parabens and phthalates.  In case you didn’t know what parabens are, they are chemicals that help to preserve products.  Phthalates are additives that supposedly aid in the flexibility of plastic and vinyl.  They are NOT good additives as they have been shown to affect the body’s hormones.

I am very picky when it comes to hand creams.  They can’t be sticky or overly oily.  They have to smell good too!  My favorites are:

Aveda Hand Relief

 Aveda Hand Relief

L’Occitane Hand Cream
When it comes to body moisturizers, the same requirements hold true – not oily and sticky; but preferably with no scent.  Here are my faves:

Alba Very Emollient Body Moisturizer

Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Moisturizer
My face moisturizer MUST have SPF in it, and it is not because I live in a sunny climate.  The sun’s rays sneak through clouds too…don’t be fooled!  Right now these two are on my countertop:

Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse along with

Supergoop! City Sunscreen Serum on top (Thanks Maria for introducing me to this line!)
I’ve also been trying out Cremorlab’s White Bloom Floral Cream that I received in my Peach & Lily box.
What do you use for moisturizers?  I would love to know – I am always open to trying new products!!

  1. It’s going to be cold here soon, and for sure I will be needing these moisturizers. Thanks for the tips.

  2. It’s time for cold weather skincare! I can tell the weather is getting colder just by how dry my hands are. I love the L’Occitane moisturizer. I’ll have to try the others too.

  3. I’ve noticed my face has been so dry now that the weather is changing. I swear by Supergoop but it’s not quite thick enough for me these days on its own. I’ll try pairing it with another face moisturizer and hopefully that will do the trick!

    1. Yes, I completely agree with you that Supergoop isn’t thick enough for the cold days. Pairing it is key so that you get the SPF!! Thanks for stopping by Allison!

  4. I’ve heard wonderful things about the Aveda hand cream. My hands are the worst in the winter…..cracked and sore. I’m going to have to try this before they get too bad. Thank you for all the recommendations.

    1. Winter wrecks havoc on our skin! Every now and then I also slather my hands with a thick cream and then put gloves on before I go to bed. That helps a lot too!
