Macy’s Culinary Council Event with Chef Dana Herbert – February 24th!

My husband and I love to watch cooking shows. But you know what’s better than watching the show in your family room? Being there LIVE with the chef a few feet away, showing you have to replicate his or her creations. I am super excited to attend the next Macy’s Culinary Council event (and not just because the chef and I share the same name)!
Saturday, February 24th at 4 p.m., Chef Dana Herbert will be at the Macy’s Home store in Aventura, Florida showcasing how to prepare some of his award-winning dishes. My favorite parts of these events are when the chefs share their personal anecdotes, stories behind the creation of the recipes they prepare, and especially that you get to know them as a person! As the chef prepares the dishes, he points out the utensils and cooking products that you can pick up at Macy’s after the event!
A LITTLE ABOUT CHEF DANA HERBERT
Chef Dana Herbert, also known as Delaware’s “King of Cakes” and “The Sugar Daddy” (because of his work with pulled and blown sugar), creates recipes that are built on simple, straightforward, sweet and savory flavors that are easy to recreate from home. An expert pastry and savory chef trained in both Culinary and Pastry Arts, Chef Dana is part of the James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour and was the winner of TLC’s Cake Boss: The Next Great Baker Season 1!
Chef Dana is dedicated to bringing our families back to the dinner table and encourages cooks and foodies to not be afraid in the kitchen.

This would be such a fun event. I do need to get better at cooking. I’m pretty terrible at it.
I wished we had a Macy’s nearby. I would totally go! I love events like this.
On now this sounds like an awesome event, how cool are Macy’s for putting this one. Definitely something I’d be tempted to pop to if I was nearby.
What a super cool event. Sounds like a lot of tasty fun! Eating and shopping…what’s not to love?
Sounds like my kind of culinary event! I’m sure there’s plenty to experience and learn here. I so wish that I lived nearer so I can attend it.

I don’thave a Macy’s nearby. I’d love to have this experience. I love food so much
I wish there was a Cooking event near me. Honestly I find cooking a chore, any more than 3 or 4 ingredients and I am lost. I did like reading your article though. I am going to Thailand in April and I have enrolled in a cooking class to help me learn to cook the type of food I like to eat.
I hope you have a wonderful trip to Thailand! Definitely write about your cooking class – I would love to hear all about it!
For someone who is terrible in the kitchen, I definitely need this. Haha!
You’d love it! I can’t wait to see what Dana cooks up!
That sounds like a great event to attend. I wish I lived in Florida. I’m definitely not afraid of my kitchen and love to cook!
This sounds so much fun and so informative. I would love to check it out. Thanks for sharing.

Wow that sounds wonderful. Working with sugar especially when melted is really hard. Kudos to Chef Dana!
Amazing. blown sugar is an incredible art. It’s so hard to handle with a very hot temperature. Yet, he was able to master this art.
I would love to be a part of this! Culinary expos are so much fun!
I used to go to the Macys Culinary Council every year, I am not sure why they arent coming to Atlanta as much these days. I love that Dana Herbert is also known as The Sugar Daddy lol.
It sounds like a very interesting event to attend. I am not really a good cook. But I love cooking and attempting new items. Thanks for this information.
I’m not that great either, Ann! 🙂
Macy’s is my favorite place to shop hands down. Also, eating food is one of my past-times, so mixing these together makes me very excited! I would love to take part in this experience.
You should totally check their website to see if they have an event coming up in your area!
