I love sharing some of my favorite beauty tips and tricks. Here are some of them – a lot of the ingredients of which you can find in your kitchen!
Vitamin C
Vitamin C has been known to be an immune booster. You hear it all the time when you have a cold – “Drink orange juice”, “Did you try Emergen-C?“, etc. It also helps to produce more collagen. Next time you are at the supermarket, purchase one of the Vitamin C drink powders (they are super inexpensive). Mix 1/4 of the package with 1 tablespoon water. Scrub this mixture onto your skin, let it dry, and then rinse. You can also take a Vitamin C tablet, crush it, and mix it into your daily moisturizer.
Milk
Milk it does a body good…inside and out! The lactic acid from milk works as an exfoliant, while the amino acids and proteins have a calming effect on reddened skin.
Vinegar
Darn sunburns! Did you know that you can rub vinegar onto the sunburned area (with a cotton ball or soft cloth). Your skin will immediately feel cooler (although you may smell like salad dressing). I’d rather smell a bit like dressing than suffer a sunburn…
Green Tea
Green tea to the rescue! Keep some green tea in your fridge – if you get a burn, you will be so glad! Soak a washcloth and use it as a compress. Some people say that green tea applied topically also protects against skin cancer.
Smooth, Tangle-Free Hair
Strong winds plus sun = hair damage 🙁 Before you go to the beach, run a leave-in conditioner with vitamin B5 into your hair.
Band-Aids
New shoes can causing boo boos! You know those new pair of fabulous shoes that you just got? You know how the soles of the shoes are super smooth and you can totally see yourself slipping and falling? WAIT! Put band-aids on the bottom of the soles! I swear it works! Now, if you cross your legs, some people may look at you weird but you won’t fall 🙂 You can also rub sandpaper on the bottoms or wear them on pavement and scratch your feet around (kinda like a mad bull LOL).
