Delray Fashion Week Recap

These past few days have been a blur of amazing fashion events. The 6th annual Delray Fashion Week swooped into town with some of the most refreshing fashions for Spring and Summer – all from designers and stores within Delray Beach.
EVENING WEAR
The evening wear fashion show was held on Atlantic Avenue, right outside The Colony Hotel. I emceed, along with Heather of Local Mom Scoop and Amanda Perna, international designer for The House of Perna and Neon Bohemians.

Over 70 models volunteered their time to walk the catwalk. 100% of the ticket costs go straight to the Achievement Center.

A majority of the trends showed sheer and flowy dresses (the wind helped a lot in showing how gorgeous the clothing was!) as well as sparkle and glitter.
RESORT WEAR
Comfort and color were the two trends I took away from the Resort Wear fashion show and luncheon. Light and airy maxi dresses, casual and fun outfits that embody “vacation”.
SWIMWEAR
One of the great reasons why I love Florida is that you can wear spring and summer attire practically all year round.
Swimwear is as common to wear here as shorts and a t-shirt. The swim show displayed some gorgeous one and two-piece suits along with flowy and fun coverups.
Support Local
Thursday’s in-store shopping event made me realize how infrequently I actually shop for enjoyment. By that I mean visiting the local boutiques and taking some time for myself to find something super special.
If I need sneakers I go to Dick’s or order online. When the boys need something for soccer or baseball, same thing. If I need clothing, I order up one of my subscription boxes.
Thursday I casually browsed some of the cutest shops in Downtown Delray – some of which I didn’t even know existed! I picked up some great things – and felt great supporting small local businesses such as:
- Biba Boutique
- Blings & Things
- Periwinkle
If you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend checking these and the other small shops on and along Atlantic Avenue the next time you go shopping. AND keep on the lookout for the announcement for next year’s Delray Fashion Week!
Beautiful what you wore was georgous.
Thank you Mama!
