The Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy – How You Can Help
A lot of my friends and family are living in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. No electricity, hot water, phones, internet…Trees down everywhere, making it impossible to drive safely.
I am far away and want to help in any way that I can. If you would like to help out, check out below for the information I found. Every little bit helps!
To schedule a blood donation or get more information about giving blood, people can visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
Help out the cats and dogs in need – donate to The Humane Society by clicking HERE.
You can also text SANDY to 80888 to make a $10 donation to be evenly distributed among the American Red Cross, AmeriCares, and the Salvation Army.
Here is a list of reputable charities that I borrowed from the Blogher website. Make sure you can find evidence of a response by the charity and not just the charity stating that it is preparing for a response (standing at the ready) in case its help is needed.
