For most families, the kitchen is an important space and one where we spend a lot of time. Whether we’re cooking, eating, cleaning, or simply hanging out together, the kitchen is the place to be, but it can also be a challenging space when you’re short on time and there are things you need to do in there.
I’ve put together some simple kitchen hacks that every mom should know about, and which will hopefully make your time spent in the kitchen even more rewarding.
Olive oil can get your pans shiny
If you have stainless steel pots and pans, you’ll know that it can be difficult to keep them looking clean, bright, and shiny. One thing that can change that is switching to olive oil as your cleaning agent of choice. Simply apply a couple of drops of olive oil to a clean cloth, and give your stainless steel pans a quick wipe. This will get rid of the kids’ fingerprints and any other debris, better than pretty much anything else.
Bio-enzymes will eat that drain gunk right away
If you have a blocked drain, garbage disposal, or basin, you need to find out where to buy bio drain cleaner. Why? Because bio-enzymes will literally eat all of that gunk that’s causing the blockage away like greedy little children in a candy store. This means you don’t have to mess around with plungers and drain snakes or anything else that takes more time or effort. Simply pour the enzymes down the drain and wait.
Your blender can clean itself
If you’ve been using your blender to make delicious soups or smoothies, you might be dreading the clean up but there is no need to do so. Why? Because all you need to do is fill the blender about a third of the way with warm water and a little dish soap and then turn it on for a few seconds. The whirring motion will ensure that the soap gets into every nook and cranny and then you just need to give it a quick rinse under the faucet. No more scrubbing required!
Keep baking soda in the fridge
Keeping an open box of baking soda in the fridge will help to absorb all of those fridge smells that you’d rather weren’t there. Even if the kids do leave an open package of salami or cheese in there, your fridge won’t get too stinky!
Clean as you work
If you’re cooking in the kitchen, one thing that will totally transform the experience and mean that you never have to dread the cleanup after a great family meal again is making an effort to clean up as you work.
It really is so much easier if you wash that knife after you’ve sliced the meat, wipe down the chopping board after cutting the veggies, and so on. It means you aren’t left with a pile of dishes to do later on, and you can really relax and enjoy your meal.
