Spring Break always seems to fall out on our wedding anniversary. Last year we spent it in St. Augustine and the year before we were at Disney. This year we decided to shake it up a bit and bring the boys to Medieval Times Orlando for their infamous dinner show. The boys had never been and really didn’t know what to expect so I was anxious to see what they thought.
15 YEARS AND COUNTING
We celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary at Medieval Times Orlando. My kids had never been and they were filled with questions on the way there. I tried to answer them as best I could without giving away the surprise of it all.
WELCOME TO THE CASTLE
Once entering the building, we received our crowns and proceeded over to take a family photo with the king. We were assigned to the black and white night (my favorite colors)! While waiting to be called into the arena, the boys chose to get their slushy drink in a cool glass while checking out the different suits of armor on display.
Once inside the arena, we were shown to our seats and this is where the fun began! I could see that the boys were curious as to what was going to happen in front of them. Our “wench” brought us drinks and then proceeded to serve the soup. It was hysterical to see the looks on the boys’ faces when we told them that there are no utensils and they had to eat with their hands. (Something they love to do at home…)
A beautiful dressage show started out the evening of events. I had just come from a dressage show at WEF in Wellington and knew some of the names of the “steps” the horses were performing!
After dressage, the jousting began! My boys immediately got into the cheering (and booing), eating the chicken with their hands while rooting for our knight.
I loved sitting back and seeing them having so much fun – fun without electronics, YouTube videos – true, family fun!
HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Our knight won! That totally made the night even better. Who else can say that they had a blast with their family, wearing crowns, eating like they did back in medieval times, cheering on their knight – AND he won?!
I definitely recommend taking your family to check out this dinner show one night if you are in the Orlando area. I’ve gone a couple of times before – once when I was dating my husband and once as a work team building trip! Each time was equally fun and exciting!
Check out ticket availability and packages before going and be sure to get ready for a great time!

Looks like a great experience to have I know my son would love this since he lovesanything to do with swords, horses you name it.
James says
We LOVE Medieval Times!
However, the last time we went, the Red Knight kept giving my wife the eye. lol
Pretty sure he saw me getting annoyed and then gave her the sash to rub it in. She got a kick out of it. 🙂
I still love it there!

I have to be honest, Middle age is not my fav historic era. I have a thing for the 20s. But this place looks so interesting and entertaining! I am sure I would have loved it as a kid!

I’m from Orlando and as a native we fall into that trap of never going out and doing things. I really need to live it up as a tourist one of these days and just head out and do fun things like this.
Dana says
Ambar, I am the same way in my city and am on the same mindset as you!

We have one out here in California. I have been to it once, but it was a lot of fun. My girlfriend loves it and goes all the time. It’s really cute though that you have done so many different things on your anniversary.
