It’s funny how easy it is to get lost in the day-to-day hustle and bustle of adulting that you don’t realize what’s around you. Literally around you. When it’s time to talk about family vacations, my husband and I hop on our computers to find a fun place to take the boys. Who would’ve known everything there is to offer is right here in my backyard?!
THE GREAT OUTDOORS
An important feature we look for when finding a vacation spot is outdoor time. I love walking through museums and aquariums, but there must be some fresh air involved in at least one of the days! We always remember to pack a football and find a local park to get some well needed time with Mother Nature. Palm Beach has SO many beautiful parks, a lot of which are equipped with bike trails, playgrounds, kayak rentals and more.
My hubby and I like to go to the Palm Beach Bike Trail in the morning. The scenic views make the ride not feel like exercise!
If you’re up for a day at the zoo, I highly recommend checking out the Palm Beach Zoo. It is just the right size – not too big, but not too small. Most of the walkways are shaded so you don’t have the sun pounding down on you. We used to take our boys EVERY weekend. We’d walk the zoo and then end the day at the carousel. There was this one carousel volunteer, Herb, that we’d look forward to seeing and chatting with while the boys went round and round. The boys also love the water fountain – they’d change into their suits and run after each other (giving us adults some time to sit and chat).
PAMPERING
Nothing says vacation to me than being pampered at a spa. Palm Beach is not lacking when it comes to options for that relaxing massage or well-needed mani/pedi. One of my favorite places is the PGA Resort & Spa. I recently spent a girl’s getaway there and everything, from the saunas and whirlpool spas to the food and of course the spa treatments, was top notch.
There are quite a few other resorts with luxurious spas, including:
- The Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Resort & Spa
- Eau Palm Beach
- Boca Resort & Beach Club
- The Breakers
- Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa
FOODIES ABOUND!
You will never go hungry in Palm Beach, nor will you be at a loss for a restaurant with the particular cuisine you are craving. CityPlace, located just east if I-95, has a bunch of great dining spots, including Il Bellagio, City Cellar, and Cheesecake Factory. There’s something for everyone. Il Bellagio was kind enough to host a handful of influencers this past month. I am still dreaming about that gnocchi dish, the meatballs, just about everything we tasted! I love that they have open air dining and a fountain show synchronized to music and lights (just like the Bellagio in Las Vegas, but on a much smaller scale).
SHOP TILL YOU DROP!
Who doesn’t love to get in some shopping while on vacay? I don’t even know where to start when it comes to finding the latest trends or gifts! Let’s start with CityPlace – aside from the restaurants, some of my favorite resident stores include H&M, Anthropologie, PaperSource, and Sephora.
Worth Avenue is famous for the high-end shopping and gorgeous streetscapes. Popular and equally beautiful malls include Town Center at Boca Raton and the Gardens Mall, but don’t pass up strolling through Mizner Park, downtown West Palm Beach, and Downtown at the Gardens.
There is so much more to explore in the Palm Beaches and you can find out all about them on the Discover the Palm Beaches website. If you need any personal recommendations, please don’t hesitate to comment below!

Ashley, spas are a magical place to me – somewhere to disconnect and take some time for ourselves before re-entering back into the real world 😉 You should treat yourself one of these days!! Worth Avenue is gorgeous – the stores are all high end so we just take the day to walk around and enjoy the surroundings!
