That is what my husband and I (and our kids at times) have become. Don’t get me wrong – I am very excited.
We’ve only been looking for a week and it is amazing how many houses I have checked out online so far. We’ve toured about 10 – 12. We’ve looked at foreclosures, resales, new construction and everything in between. I feel like we have been searching for ages – LOL.
I don’t know if I have ever mentioned my love for HGTV and how much I have learned from those shows! That knowledge has helped me during this process – look past the paint and flooring; just look at the “bones” of the home, etc.
My older boy asked our realtor if he knew the Property Brothers (I died laughing at that!). [Story behind that – when my husband goes away, my boys have a sleepover in my room and are stuck watching my shows which are entirely on HGTV.] Another funny comment by N after walking through the first house of the night, “Are we going to look at House #2 and House # 3 now?” G-d I love that kid!!!
Another crazy story – our Realtor was recommended to us by a close friend. He is a great guy, and has been super patient with us. We have been working with him for a week, as mentioned before. Last night, after walking the final house of the tour, we started talking in the driveway with him and the current homeowner. She lived in a city that my husband used to live in, so it sparked conversation. Our Realtor asked him where he went to high school and long story short – his close friend is also close friends with my brother-in-law (and he remembers this mutual friend talking about my brother-in-law, etc.). Small world, right?
Then…our Realtor had said, when we first started talking, that he thought he knew me from somewhere but we couldn’t pinpoint it. Last night I requested him as a friend on Facebook and noticed that he went to SUNY Albany, a school I went to for my freshman year. It turns out he was friends with my HS friends that also went to Albany – Leigh and Yael. What a small world!!!
Finally…my husband goes to the sales office of a new community the other day and gets information, along with the Sales Representatives cell phone number (as he wasn’t in that day). Long story short – I used to work with the sales rep at a previous job. Seriously???
WOW…did I divert from the initial topic of this blog…haha.
Do you have any “small world” stories? If so, post below!
More on the house hunt later!

Wow. It is a small world. I find it so funny just how small sometimes. I have met people from Germany that I never knew there but that knew someone, who knew someone… it is a small world! Good luck on the house hunting. It’s fun but also stressful.
