Yep…2:00 am this morning I was woken to hearing my youngest son coughing and coughing and coughing. Poor guy…I felt his head – it was warm – UGH. Of course my ear thermometer didn’t work, so I wrestled with the mouth thermometer which didn’t go over well. 🙁 I think he had 100.4 but it “hurt his tongue” so that tipped me off that it wasn’t placed properly. Trying to give him medicine was another wrestling match. Finally at about 3, he fell back asleep so I went back to bed.
6:30 am – “Mom, do you not hear G coughing?”. That would be my oldest son…G was shivering and coughing so much it made him get sick – OY. Thank goodness for CVS opening at 7 am – I returned home with Tylenol and a forehead thermometer (lack of variety and picky-ness lead me to that choice). NOTE: don’t buy a forehead thermometer.
Long story short – I had to cancel our Christmas Day festivities, set up quarantine at my mom’s for tonight’s Christmas Eve dinner, and am leaving at noon-ish to do the “changing of the guards” so my husband can get some work done today.
When I was little, either my sister or I would end up getting sick…I guess we are continuing the tradition.

You as a parent get Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New years but not all three for a very long time.
Love you

UGH Hope everyone feels better soon! Here too! Dad is hacking and husband is grumping, kids are dripping. Mom and I are going to barricade ourselves in the kitchen with Lysol. Good luck!! XO
