We are always on the lookout for a cool place for our (sadly infrequent) date nights. Both the hubby and I love Chinese food, so when we were invited to try out Hai House’s new Spring menu we gladly made reservations!
Worth Avenue on Palm Beach Island is known as the mecca for high-end designer shopping. I’m talking Gucci, Hermes, Jimmy Choo, Tiffany & Co., and Chanel to name a few. It also houses some notable upscale dining options – Hai House being the newest to join.
Located on the second floor of the Esplanade on Worth Avenue, Hai House and it’s traditional (with a twist) Chinese cuisine has been missing from the Palm Beach scene until now.
Hai House is a refined yet approachable Chinese-American dining experience in the heart of Palm Beach’s historic Worth Avenue. With award-winning chef James Strine at the helm, Hai House serves dim sum, noodles, seafood, and various classic Chinese dishes. The full bar offers an innovative, hand-crafted cocktail program, as well as a curated wine list and authentic Chinese beer and teas. Dinner is served from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday, with an extensive Happy Hour served throughout the dining room from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
CURATED COCKTAILS
I am a wine lover so was pleasantly pleased with their selection! The hubby opted for their signature Empire cocktail – grapefruit vodka, lemongrass, basil, and a dash of cinnamon.
DATE NIGHT APPETIZERS
It was hard to decide on our appetizers all sounded so great, but we narrowed it down to the Char Sui Ribs and an order of Soup Dumplings.
The Char Sui Ribs were delicious. We loved the addition of the crispy shallot topper!
The soup dumplings were little pockets of goodness!
We opted for the green papaya salad to clean our palate – a perfect recommendation from the ever-helpful staff.
ON TO THE MAIN COURSE!
The Spring Menu offers a variety of healthy options to compliment the already popular menu items. We chose Happy Family and the Palm Beach Fried Rice.
The Palm Beach Fried Rice caught my husband’s eye immediately with the inclusion of blue crab, topped with a poached egg, and 24-carat gold leaf.
The Happy Family combined scallops, shrimp, squid, asparagus, carrots, and bok choy in a super light sauce.
Other options to choose from are Chinese BBQ Pork Loin, Vegetable Stir Fry, Grilled Mahi in a ginger sake marinade, and the Shanghai seared scallops.
I would highly recommend checking Hai House! Enjoy Happy Hour – 50% off drinks and dim sum every day from 4 – 6 p.m.
Karaoke lovers need to check out Hai Notes Karaoke Night on Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
