This month the book club gathered at my house – I was so excited! About 15 of us got together to eat, drink, catch up on what’s going on in each others’ lives, and of course, discuss the chosen book for that month.
November’s book choice was Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson.
Each member brings a dish and a bottle of wine to the club meetings…you can imagine how much fun it is! This time around we had lots of reds and whites to drink. To eat:
- Smoked chicken wings
- Veggies and dip
- Fancy cheese with apples and crackers
- Chips and black bean dip
- Fried chicken
- Figs wrapped in bacon with blue cheese
- Candy
- Spinach dip and bread bowl
- Pepperoni bread
- Rice Krispies sushi…you have to see the pic!
- Amazing pies and cupcakes
- there’s more…I know I missed some.
It took us an hour or so to catch up, then we were down to business. Erin was the moderator, per say, with questions in hand! It’s amazing how well the conversation flowed – and how interesting it was to hear each person’s take on the book. This book in particular was an interesting choice. As a whole, I believe the group liked it – it evoked interesting conversations about marriage, trust, family, relationships.
By the end of the evening, we were all well-fed and ready to learn about the next book choice. Carolyn picked The Life of Pi….I am so excited to start reading it!
Are you part of a book club? If so, what books have you read – any recommendations for my club?
