FOR THE TECHIE
I wonder if they would notice that I am not a kid when I arrive on the first day of camp! iD Tech Camps is a summer technology program for students ages 7-17. Students ages 7-18 learn to code, design video games, mod Minecraft, create with Roblox, engineer robots, model and print 3D characters, work with AI, build laptops, and more! Held at 150+ prestigious campuses nationwide including the University of Miami, Florida Atlantic, Stanford, MIT, and more. This summer, your child can explore a prestigious campus, make friends as they master new tech skills, and join a community of 350,000 alumni. These weeklong camps have both day and overnight options for families which include hands-on, personalized technology instruction and a variety of fun summer camp activities. iD Tech courses are led by tech-savvy staff in a dynamic, pressure-free learning environment.
Course Options
COZMO: iD Tech’s Cozmo course is geared towards 7-9-year-olds. Cozmo is more than a computer—it’s an AI with personality, a companion for a journey into a world of adventures and challenges (long after the camp ends). Students use visual coding to make alarm clocks, play block-moving games, and see what programming can do with a new electronic friend.
PiTop: Students spend their first day assembling a pi-top laptop from a Raspberry Pi and other circuit boards (that’s theirs to take home). Then it’s on to Python programming and electrical engineering. With an introduction to what hardware, engineering, and coding have to offer, this course has something for everyone. The teen course goes a step further using the pi-topPULSE, an Amazon Web Services capable device, to create a variety of inventions—a flappy game, a song, or a light show.
Two exciting courses in their 2018 lineup:
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: What if your code could turn pictures of horses into zebras, tell the difference between cats and dogs, and beat world champions at chess? Step aside black magic, machine learning is here and performing tasks people used to believe were only possible in fantasy worlds. Dive into this developing field using data sets, probability, statistics and more, with tools like Python and TensorFlow (which helps computers emulate the way a brain works) to turn yesterday’s dreams into reality.
Roblox Entrepreneur: Create, Code, Publish Games: Roblox is one of the fastest-growing game creation platforms on the planet, with more than 60 million players per month and top developers making over $1 million a year. In this course, you’ll use Roblox’s built-in editor to create 3D worlds and then use Lua to code game mechanics. Publish, share, and play games with friends on any platform from console to mobile. Study games that have been runaway hits and learn how to implement some of the same monetization strategies.

Discover Your WOW!
While Camp Shalom favorites like theme days, field trips, and Shabbat celebrations are super exciting, they are super excited for another fun-filled summer of helping campers discover their Wow by stepping outside of their comfort zone in order to promote confidence, develop character, and building self-esteem through new experiences.
Enhanced Focus on Safety
Camp Shalom is one of only a few camps in Boynton Beach that completes full background screening and fingerprinting on counselors and staff. All doors are locked and cannot be opened without an access pass. Plus, JCC security guards are on duty at all times to monitor the campus.
That Family Feeling
It’s that feeling when you enter the JCC and are greeted by name. It’s that feeling when you culminate the week by wrapping your arm around a friend while singing Shabbat songs. It’s that feeling of a close-knit JCC community where life-long friendships are created, summer memories are made, and friends, counselors, and staff become a lot more like family.
Low Staff to Child Ratios
Camp Shalom’s staff to camper ratio is 1:8, which is lower than many camps in the area. The low ratio allows counselors to form relationships with the campers and better supervise the activities of the day.
Swimming
What child, especially living in Florida doesn’t love daily free swim?! It is offered to all campers and instructional swim for kids up to grade 3 is available with their Jswim aquatics staff. Preschoolers have daily water play whether it is running through our sprinkler park or swimming in the pool. Lifeguards are always on duty throughout the camp day.
First-Rate Communication
I love that every week campers come home with personalized letters from their counselors highlighting each camper’s favorite activities. Unit heads have email addresses to provide more direct contact and communication. A professional photographer takes pictures of all the activities and you’ll get access to those pictures to share with family and friends. How cool is that?!

With two locations in Palm Beach County – Boca Raton’s Osprey Point Golf course and Stuart’s Martin County Golf – your aspiring golf pro will be so excited to spend his or her summer days learning from the best! 3 hours of hands-on instruction daily is coupled with the opportunity to develop their skills in a fun, supporting, and encouraging environment.
Your mini golfer will be practicing using cutting-edge advanced teaching technology.
