I didn’t even knew it existed, did you? I have just recently (thank you Jami) become a fan of Express. I mean, I have dabbled in the store here and there but never really found much when I went on my own. When I visited my sister this past month, I complimented her on a great shirt that she was wearing – it was from Express. I was intrigued…it fit nicely, didn’t cling, was classic and stylish – I felt that I needed one of these shirts too. Five shirts later (and probably 2 glasses of wine and coaxing from my sister) I am stocked with Express shirts for the season. (Mind you, she had the same 5 said shirts in her “cart” but she didn’t pull the trigger – I did.) \
Fast forward a few days later, I am perusing the Express site yet again now armed with a discount code (I am such a sucker for those) and I stumbled upon this skater dress. It looked super cute on the model, I liked it a lot with a contrasting skinny belt, but could I pull it off? I had to find out (I didn’t HAVE to, but I wanted to, ok).
The dress arrived (a few days later than the shirts which I have worn all but one so far). I was so hesitant to try it on – I am thirty something, c’mon….
I loved it! The top was very flattering and the waist hit in just the right spot to draw the eye away from certain areas. Of course I got it in black, I wanted to be safe, and know that I would wear it. It wasn’t as short as the model’s dress below (maybe because I am 5’1″ 🙂 but I think was a perfect length).

I think this dress would be super cute with flats or heels…but definitely pair it with a belt that pops. Maybe I’ll wear this to dinner with the ladies on Saturday night!
