I so look forward to a warm bath after a long day at work, an extensive workout, or just a stressful day. These peppermint and green tea DIY bath bombs with essential oils help to relax my muscles and melt my stress. They also make GREAT holiday gifts!
DIY Bath Bombs with Essential Oils
What you will need:
- 2 oz Epsom salt
- 4 oz baking soda
- 2 oz corn starch
- 2 oz citric acid
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tbsp water
- 1 packet Green Tea
- 20 drops Peppermint essential oil
Supplies:
- Large bowl
- Whisk
- Small jar with lid
- Bath Bomb Molds – 1.8 inch
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
How to Make These Amazing Bath Bombs
Mix the dry ingredients first (Epsom salt, baking soda, cornstarch and citric acid), using the whisk. Mix well to ensure there are no clumps.
Add the Green Tea and mix well.
Pour the wet ingredients (olive oil, water and essential oil)) into the jar, secure the lid and shake well.
Very slowly add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture, about a few drops at a time, while whisking. If you’re not pouring slowly enough, the mixture will start to fizz and you don’t want that to happen.
Once all of the liquid has been poured into the dry mixture, mix very well until the color is consistent.
Immediately fill the molds with the mixture, firmly stuffing each side full.
Secure both parts of the mold together and let set. I always give it about a day, just to be on the safe side.
Carefully release bath bombs from molds and put into an airtight container, or individual cellophane bags.
You can mix and match the essential oil with any tea packets. They are the perfect addition for any DIY at home spa day too. What would your favorite combination be?
