OK, So It Wasn’t Allergies

I am taking a little hiatus from blogging today because I have a stupid cold.  I went to the doctor yesterday for a follow-up visit – I was healthy at 1:45pm.  Come 6:30pm and I am a sneezing, sniffling, coughing mess.  It’s got to be allergies, right?

This afternoon my oldest son was going to his first birthday sleepover party, so we dedicated the second-half of the day as “G’s Fun Day”.  I couldn’t wait to spend some one-on-one time with him!  I envisioned taking a bicycle ride around the neighborhood, playing basketball and baseball in the front yard, then going to dinner.  He said he wanted to play a Wii game and then a board game, after dinner, and then watch a family movie.  It was planned out perfectly.  Right?

This morning it was like a faucet took over my nose (sorry if TMI).  Every time I coughed I cringed because it killed my throat.  Oh, and the pain in my right ear…that didn’t feel too good either.  Considering the fact that I have been sick way too many times in the past 60 days, I had to nip this in the bud.  I choked on the $95 payment for the urgent care center, but was glad to come out with a diagnosis of only “a cold”.  Seriously!  My husband brought G to a bounce house place, Carvel and Toys R Us while I rested and caught up on Guiliana and Bill.  I totally missed out on “G’s Fun Day”.  🙁

2 hours of rest later and one Mucinex and I am downstairs building Legos with my little guy.  We are going to his favorite restaurant for dinner (I may be a bit sniffly but I am not missing out) and then he said we will all watch a movie together.  🙂
