October’s Nordstrom Trunk Club Unboxing

I genuinely look forward to my Nordstrom Trunk Club deliveries.  It’s like Christmas each time the trunk club box arrives at my door.

Each box is curated based on a personalized survey that I completed prior, along with updated notes on items I am looking for at that particular time.  This time I asked my stylist, Kristi, for some pieces that I can layer as I am going up north for the upcoming holiday.

I’m looking for clothing that I can wear on my trip as well as during the cooler months days here in South Florida.  Kristi most definitely delivered! Check out what I received and tell me which pieces you recommend I keep and which I should send back.

Naturalizer Jesse Knee High Riding Boots

I figured it would be fun to start from the bottom and work my way up.  First up is a gorgeous pair of riding boots.

I have a similar pair that I’ve worn into the ground.  It is so versatile and looks great with jeggings, skinny jeans, leggings, or a super cute skirt.

Blondo Valli Waterproof Bootie

Booties are all the rage and have been actually for quite some time.  I already own a pair of black and one in a tan suede, so I was looking forward to see what Kristi sent my way.

BOTTOMS

NYDJ Skinny Jeans

I am all about dark denim.  It’s perfect for a business casual meeting with a blouse or sweater or you can dress them down.  Either way, a pair of dark denim jeans is a must in your closet.

These from NYDJ were cute.  I liked that they were petite (meaning I don’t have to tailor them, which is usually the case with other pairs that I’ve gotten in the past).  They have an elastic waistband (comfort!) and tout that they will make you look one size smaller than you are!

I wasn’t too sure about the bottom though.  I felt as if they looked a bit like a mom jean on the bottom.  I am a mom, and very proud of that, but there was something about the bottom that made me say no to these.

Wit & Wisdom Super Smooth Stretch Denim Skinny Jeans

Just from the touch alone (and before reading the actual name of these skinny jeans), I knew I would really like them.  They are so soft!

I have a similar pair that I’ve worn for the last 6 years.  Time to get a replacement.  These stretch denim skinny jeans were perfect.  I love the stretch – no marks on my waist when I take these puppies off.  AND they make my butt look good.

Hinge Lace Top

As soon as I took this shirt out of the box, I knew I would like it!

I thought it scream Thanksgiving dinner shirt – it was perfect!  I love the cuffed long sleeves and the keyhole neck in the back.  I layered it over a cream cami.  LOVE!

Halogen Open Front Cable Cardigan

There’s something about cable knit sweaters that exude comfort.  This sweater by Halogen is in one of my go-to colors – gray!

Although I liked that it was petite to better fit my narrow shoulders, it still was a bit too short for me.  If I decide to keep it, I would have to get it in a size bigger.

Halogen Long Sleeve Modal Tee

Softness and usability are the two words that came to my mind when I tried on this modal long sleeve shirt by Halogen.

I liked the seam down the back – a lot! It is definitely form fitting so I would recommend sizing up one size.

Treasure and Bond Boyfriend Oxford Shirt

This shirt looked rather plain and boxy when I first took it out of the box.  I could see it being great for someone working in an office setting, but didn’t make any final opinions until I tried it on.

I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t super oversized and actually fit nicely!  I liked that it wasn’t snug either – actually, quite comfortable.  I personally wouldn’t wear it tucked in; rather out and with a pair of skinny jeans or leggings.

Halogen Mock Neck Sweater

The color was the first thing that caught my eye with this sweater by Halogen.  Well, that and the neck style.

Caslon Front Pocket Utility Jacket

I love camouflage so this jacket is right up my alley.  At first, it looked a bit boxy, but the drawstring bottom made up for that.

Halogen Tailored Trouser Leather Belt

I am not really a belt person, but my stylist sent this one along because it matched either of the two pairs of shoes sent.

I liked the oval buckle and the simplicity of the design but didn’t keep it.

BP Geo Colorblock Scarf

This scarf by BP is amazing!  Not only is it super soft, but it’s also large and absolutely perfect for my trip up north.  Blanket scarves are the best for airplanes when it is always a bit too cold (I’m always chilly on flights), and even better for layering!
