There is so much to see and do in Las Vegas, both on and off the strip. Between the amazing hotel designs (inside and out), the flashing lights, and the people-watching, it may be hard to focus on the best spots to take memorable photos. That’s where I come in!
We go to Las Vegas every January for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). During the day we are walking up and down the miles of aisles of the latest in technology. Early mornings, late afternoons and nights are spent checking out street art, touring the hotels, and eating some of the greatest food.
COSMOPOLITAN LOBBY
The Cosmopolitan has to be my absolute favorite hotel on the strip. Everything about it screams elegant, cool, and sophisticated. The lobby is so interactive and we have many cool photos just in this one spot! The columns are all LED screens and I find myself gazing at them for minutes on end.
EIFFEL TOWER, PARIS HOTEL
It’s not the same as being in front of the REAL Eiffel Tower, but this is pretty close! Be creative with where you stand and you can produce some very cool shots, like the one below!
BELLAGIO FOUNTAIN
You are bound to experience one of the musical fountain shows while passing by the Bellagio hotel. Watch the fountains move in synchronism with popular music and lights. The photo below is taken from our room at The Cosmopolitan, but you can get an equally amazing shot at street level.
VENETIAN GRAND CANAL
Walking through the Venetian brings back memories of my honeymoon, on a much smaller scale. Catch a photo inside or outside of the Grand Canal – maybe even one of you on a gondola ride!
VENETIAN LOBBY
Opulence is what I think of when I walk into this lobby. The floor…the ceiling…AMAZING!
VENETIAN EXTERIOR
Taken just before sunrise, this photo of the bridge outside the Venetian is breathtaking. We waited until the water was still to emphasize the under-bridge lighting. Also, be sure to capture the Campanile Tower (on the right).
TREASURE ISLAND PIRATE SHIP
Treasure Island has been around for a long time. I remember taking a family vacation when my dad turned 40 and watching the super fun pirate show.
THE PALLAZZO
The Palazzo, sister hotel to the Venetian, with amazing shopping (as you can see in the photo below).
WYNN
Wynn is actually 4 hotels under one roof! We took this shot at sunrise across the street. Inside there are also some great must-have shots – the two Jeff Koons sculptures, the beautiful carousel and more!
MIRAGE
The Mirage, which opened in 1989, is one of the iconic hotels on the strip because of its Cirque du Soleil Beatles show. I have yet to see it but cannot wait to check it out next January!
LAS VEGAS IN ALL ITS GLORY
Of course there are many more photos to be taken – on and off the strip – but these are our favorites. Technology allows us the ability to carry our lightweight cameras (aka phones) wherever we go.
