If you’re anything like I am, you are always on the lookout for the next best thing when it comes to planning. Whether it is for my business, blog, kids, or personal life, a new planner always piques my interest. The ladies over at Bailey Craft Planners were kind enough to send me over a Simply Yours Day Planner to test drive. And what a smooth ride it was!
I’d first heard about the Simply Yours Day Planner from another blogger. She was doting on about how well-constructed it was – top on my list of planner attribute must haves. I’ve had my share of planners where after a few months the binding busts or the covers peel and damage too easily. My planner is my best friend. I take it with me everywhere (“it traveled with me to Hong Kong” everywhere).
When my planner arrived at my doorstep, I was so excited!
I examined the covers and binding inside and out and they look pretty tough. The covers’ corners are reinforced with metal, so as to not ding up easily – nice! The binding is hard core…it isn’t bending.
The first interior page can be personalized – so cute 🙂
And then we get into the meat and potatoes of the planner. What’s nice is that you can start the planner from any month you’d like – you aren’t stuck to the traditional January – December calendar. I started mine in April and it runs all the way through March 2017. Here are some of the interior pages:
Now you may think that my planner pages look a bit blah compared to all of the washi tape and sticker planner lovers out there. I love the whole washi movement with the colorful patterns and such but I have ZERO time to get involved – and I know that if I get started with it, it will be like my scrapbooking phase where I had to have every embellishment, paper, and Cricut machine with cartridges. It wasn’t normal.
I love my markers – Le Pen and the erasable Frixion from Pilot – and I like that I can write with practically any marker and it doesn’t bleed onto the back of the page. The markers give me just the right amount of color I need on the pages – and it keeps them neat and clean.
How do you stay organized? I’d love to know!

I’m already looking for my 2017 planner and this one is getting added to the list!

I hear you Rachel – you could never plan too far ahead!

This is so cute. I really need to get better at actually using my planner. I keep buying them, then not using them. What is wrong with me? lol
Dana says
Angie, that’s what I did in the past! There are good intentions when buying the planner though, right?!
Catherine Short says
I love the idea of paper planners but I haven’t been able to stay consistent with one since college. I probably just haven’t found the right one for me!
Dana says
There are so many out there, Catherine – but some people also love the electronic versions. Good luck in your search!

Looks great 🙂
My friend was showing me her bullet journalling the other day… Something which I wouldn’t mind taking up 🙂
Dana says
I want to try bullet journalling as well – it looks so cool but also like it takes a while to get it all set up!
