I have been compensated by JOHNSON’S® Baby for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
Whether you are just going away with the family for the weekend or packing for a 7-day vacation, it is important to make sure you are amply prepared – especially when there’s a baby in tow.
Granted my boys are not babies anymore, but to this day we use some of the same JOHNSON’S® Baby products that we used over a decade ago. (AND that my mom used for my sister and me WAY back when.) What’s even nicer is that if you forget something, you can stop by the nearest Walmart to grab any missing essentials!
I was able to easily find them in the Baby Care section. If that isn’t possible, you can easily order them online and either pick them up at the store or have them delivered right to your door!
PACKING ESSENTIALS
Clothing
I learned the hard way to pack double the number of baby outfits you’d normally pack. Vacation or no vacation, we’ve experienced many a messy meal and an occasional accident or 5. Along the same lines as the clothing, make sure you pack swaddle blankets if your baby still uses them as well as burp cloths.
Diapers and Wipes
Packing diapers and wipes always depended on how we were getting to our vacation spot. If we were flying, I would order them to be delivered to the final destination or pick them up once we landed. If we drove, I would pack what I estimated we would need since we’d have the room in the car.
Feeding Needs
Bottles, baby spoons, and small bowls are easily packable (and washable). Try to consider disposable (and recyclable) items when it comes to bowls and spoons.
Toys
My boys loved their toys! We’d pack a few in the diaper bag for easy access and then the remainder in the luggage. Board books, teething toys, and their favorite stuffed animals are just a few.
Toiletries
A little baby can bring with him or her a lot of items – and toiletries are a large part. Depending on how long you will be away, you can opt for the travel size or full-size bottles. (If you are flying, be sure that any liquids you bring on board with you is under 3.4 ounces and packed in a quart-size clear zip-top bag.)
- Body Wash: I am a huge fan of JOHNSON’S® Head-to-Toe® baby wash. You can use it literally from their heads to their little toes. I also am a HUGE fan of JOHNSON’S® Bedtime Baby Bath®. Every night I would bathe my babies in this heavenly smelling wash. I think it relaxed me as much as it helped to relax them!
- Shampoo: JOHNSON’S® baby shampoo is still a staple in our household. It’s gentle on the boys’ hair (they use it to this day!).
- Body Lotion: Another staple in our household, and I think forever will be, is JOHNSON’S® Bedtime Baby Lotion. Once we finished bath time, we’d dry our son and then apply the baby lotion. PJs and reading time were next!
- Diaper Rash Cream: DESITIN® multi-purpose ointment worked wonders on my little guys’ bums.
My sons’ toiletries bag was filled with JOHNSON’S® Baby products, as you read above! Even though we would travel, we wouldn’t want to disrupt their nighttime routines, which included JOHNSON’S® Baby products.
There are also some new JOHNSON’S® baby products that I wish were around when my boys were little! Which baby products do you make sure are in your luggage for your vacations?
