This week’s womanpreneur, Natalie Hatjes, and I met at a networking luncheon a few months ago. Each person had to give a 1-minute “pitch” as to what they do and when Natalie explained what she did, I had to learn more!
A sexuality educator, writer, and podcaster are just some of the titles Natalie holds – as well as being a super sweet person and amazing mom.
Meet Natalie Hatjes!
When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?
Professional Athlete
How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have always been the go-to for advice, so one day a friend of mine was venting about her relationship problems and said, you need to start a podcast Chat with Nat – and then Love Chat with Nat was born.
What is the biggest struggle you’ve encountered as an entrepreneur and how did you solve it?
Money blocks and confidence! I have done a lot of work including hypnosis around abundance and self-worth. It has been life changing for me. It was especially important when creating a new product on the market.
What do you think are the pros and cons of being a womanpreneur?
There are so many pros. Being my own boss and making my own hours to be able to spend time with my daughter has been the biggest pro. The con/struggle for me is strategy and consistency.
Do you have any mentors or coaches that you work with?
I network a lot and attend conferences and luncheons. I tried a business coach before but it’s not my cup of tea. When I need help with something, I will hire for that specifically.
What advice would you give to someone reading this that has the entrepreneurial “itch”?
Move beyond the fear and go for it!
What is the secret to achieving work-life balance for you?
For me, it is self-care. I take time for myself mentally, emotionally, and physically. This allows me to be present with myself, my daughter, and my business.
How do you find inspiration?
I follow a lot of amazing people on different social media outlets and use them as inspiration. I also listen to audiobooks, podcasts, and use my own goals and vision as inspiration.
What is your favorite book?
The Power of Your Subconscious Mind
What is your favorite quote?
“There are no limits to what you can accomplish, except the limits you place on your own thinking.” – Brian Tracy
What do you do to decompress?
Reflexology massages, self-hypnosis, allowing myself to relax.
