There are a few go-to places that I consistently shop at. I break the stores down into two types. There are some stores that I can go to for staples – like a white t-shirt, jeans, work pants. Then there are the stores that I like to browse, hoping to find a great deal! Let’s start with a favorite budget-friendly “staple” store…H&M!
When I would visit NY with the family, I would hope that on our many walks around the city we would happen to pass by an H&M. Now, I don’t have to finagle that into our schedule – their online shop opened and now we have quite a few H&Ms in the area. I personally still like to shop online. The shipping is minimal (a lot of times waived), and I am getting the hang of their sizing. Don’t be surprised if you have to size up. I had to size up at least one size and have come to peace with that fact because I really like what they have and LOVE their pricing. H&M is a great place to find basics as well as trendy pieces – all at amazing prices! They offer sales here and there – definitely sign up for their emails. I have scored some great dresses, shirts, blazers and slacks for work.
Below are some great dresses that can go from the office to happy hour and beyond. Pair them with a blazer or cardigan (especially if your office is as cold as mine!), a colorful scarf or statement necklace…add a nice kitten heel and you are on-trend! Hover over the images to show the pricing. Click on the images to learn more about the piece. I’m telling you – you can get a beautifully put together outfit for well-under $100.
Here are some outfits that I have pieced together for the office, but separately the pieces can be used for any setting.
Outfit #1: Pair with a black blazer or cardi and either super cute flats or heels…this outfit is very versatile.
Outfit #2: Take any of the shirts below and pair them with one of H&M’s pants below…instant outfit. I know the pants are all black and I apologize. Black is my go-to color and I don’t think you could have enough pairs of black pants…suit pants; cropped skinnies, ankle-length skinnies; straight leg, the list is endless…
Outfit #3: A casual one! I’ve purchased some great t-shirts and cotton tops from H&M, along with denim. Definitely read the washing instructions before throwing them into the washing machine, but they are great staples…there are endless outfits made with these pieces. BTW, they come in other colors…for some reason my widget is showing black and white. (Not that I mind!)
What do you think about H&M? Do you like the pieces I showed above? What are you looking for that I can help you find?
