One of our many stops during our Atlanta family vacation was to the Georgia Aquarium. Known as the world’s largest aquarium, the Georgia Aquarium opened in 2005. It features more animals than any other aquarium in more than ten million gallons of water!
I think I was more excited than the boys to go, but once we got inside you could see that they were in awe! We started at the dolphin show “Dolphin Tales”. My little one was scared at first because he thought it was a 3D movie, so we had to explain to him that it was a live show, etc. Once he saw the dolphins in the HUGE tank in front of us, he was able to relax. LOL.
The kids’ favorite exhibit was the Georgia Explorer and I think it was because of the super huge slide. When you get to the bottom of the slide, it looks as if you are exiting a whale’s mouth! I believe they went down that slide at least a dozen times. When we asked the boys what exhibit they wanted to go to next, “the store” seemed to be the most popular answer (they are totally my sons!!).
A very cool exhibit was with the Penguins (no pun intended!).
The boys (including my husband) went through the crawl space to see the penguins up close. One of the super cute little guys loved the boys’ pens!
My favorite exhibit was the beluga whales! They are so beautiful!
while my husband was in awe of the whale shark.
