BOOK REVIEW: The Hunchback of Neiman Marcus

The Hunchback of Neiman Marcus Book Review

The Hunchback of Neiman Marcus Book Review
I have to admit –  when I first started reading The Hunchback of Neiman Marcus, I almost put it down before the end of the second chapter.  It was different from the books I have read in the past.  It’s poetry.  Not the Cat in the Hat poetry, but nonetheless it is in verse.

I am SO GLAD I didn’t stop reading – this book is so great.  The author, Sonya Sones, created a completely identifiable, funny, sad, realistic account of what it is like being a married woman with a child, responsibilities with the family, parents, grey hair, you name it.

Each chapter is an anecdote of the life of the main character, Holly.  I didn’t want to put the book down, but when I had to and then returned to it, I was able to jump back into her life.

There were parts of the book that I could completely relate to which hooked me even more.  You become friends with her friend Alice.  You want her mother to get better.  You commiserate with her when it comes to her husband and daughter.  Her humor is spot on with perfect timing.  It reminded me that I need to STOP and enjoy my boys because before I know it, they are going to be grown up.

I highly recommend this book.  AND it is only $1.99 for the Kindle edition right now…
