I took a mini Summer vacay from Womanpreneur Wednesday but we’re back!
Beth Graves and I met a long time ago at a Stella & Dot training event. We were on the same team, so we’d see each other during the monthly meetings and had a blast at the San Francisco annual event.
Fast forward at least a decade and Beth is now a female force to be reckoned with! You’ll see what I mean in the interview below!
MEET BETH GRAVES!
When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?
A camp counselor
How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I realized that magical things happen when women are together with no distractions. We have the most courage when we have a team cheering for us, challenging us and help us with solutions… And FUN! Mommas need to have FUN! My business had three arms. One is camp for entrepreneurs, the other is a coaching group where I help women take their passion and gift and devise a profitable business plan and the third arm is my network marketing business. Many women want a done for you business (A website, a product and a mentor to help them make money from home or the car pick up line) This is how many women get their feet “wet” on their entrepreneurial journey.

What is the biggest struggle you’ve encountered as an entrepreneur and how did you solve it?
Waiting to be perfect! A mastermind/accountability group, a TON of personal development, a committed morning routine that includes gratitude, growth, goals, meditation and a CALENDAR that is time blocked in 11 minute work bubbles.
What do you think are the pros and cons of being a womenpreneur?
The pros are infinite! The cons? Money mindset and not having that steady paycheck. Also, other moms thinking that because you are building a business you may not be focused on the kids. I have realized now that I am an almost empty nest momma that the very best example I gave to my daughter was being a role model for her as a business owner. Kids want quality time over quantity. I never miss the big things but we have conversations all of the time- For example, she didn’t care if I worked the concession stand during her shows but she did want to do one “girl’s weekend” a month. Women think that they need to do it all. I was that mom once upon a time. And then this journey had taught me that it is ok to say no and the save the YES for the things that count.

Do you have any mentors or coaches that you work with?
I work with Danelle Delgado. I invest heavily in my coaching. I first saw her on the stage at the Grant Cardone 10X Bolder event and knew I needed her in my life. We did a 3 day intensive, a Greece mastermind trip and now I am in a small group mastermind with 15 other entrepreneurs. She pushes me every day to use my gifts, dream bigger and TAKE ACTION!
What advice would you give to someone reading this that has the entrepreneurial “itch”?
Just DO IT! Find the right mentor and be sure you have a road map in front of you that makes sense. Everyday be in income producing activity and buy a GIANT white board. I built my business to 7 figures with 100 sticky notes on my wall and a GIANT white board! (And a really awesome playlist!) Dance it out and get to work!
What is the secret to achieving work-life balance for you?
We have a giant family calendar and there is a weekly meeting where EVERYTHING is put in place. We know who is driving, shopping, attending. I also share my “work’ hours and my events. ALWAYS schedule YOUR self care. Workouts etc. And when I own my mornings- I own the day. I wake up at 4:45 am and 7 hours of sleep is a requirement for me.

How do you find inspiration?
I listen to a ton of podcasts, I study other brands and I listen for the struggles of the people around me. I keep a journal and I write at all times. If I am in the space of someone who has achieved and created- I ask a ton of questions!
What is your favorite book?
I have a million favorites! Right now I am reading Dare to Lead by Brene Brown. My all time favorite book is Secret Garden from when I was a kid. And the I Choose Joy journal by Danelle Delgado has changed my life!
What is your favorite quote?
“Live everyday like your Elle Woods after Warner told her she wasn’t smart enough to go to law school.” Legally Blonde
What do you do to decompress?
Turn on music and dance it out, do a quick Breethe app meditation, go and smack tennis balls.

I have been thinking an accountability group would be a productive use of my time and this confirms it. I’m curious about using a work calendar with 11 minute time bubbles, I don’t think I can accomplish much in 11 minutes. I am going to start scheduling my self-care this week, great advise

11 minutes is a pretty short time span, but you’d be surprised if you are totally dedicated to one task at a time!
