Can you believe that today, back in 1990, Beverly Hills 90210 debuted??? Yes, I feel super old. 🙂

I used to count down the days until the next episode aired. I would talk to my friends about Dylan and Brenda like we were BFFs. I wanted to look like Kelly (a little), go to West Beverly High, date Brandon…don’t deny…you did too!

The original idea behind the show was to show the trials and tribulations of Brandon and Brenda as they acclimated themselves to a much different lifestyle than their previous life in Minnesota. 90210 also touched on important topics affecting teens – alcoholism, date rape, domestic violence, gay rights, and drug abuse to name just a few.
What about the Peach Pit? Naaaatttttttttt…. oh, and who didn’t dislike Valerie?

Here’s some trivia:
- Valerie’s roll was originally offered to Alicia Silverstone, but she turned it down. In comes Tiffani Thiessen from Saved By the Bell…
- The character ‘Jim Walsh’ was ranked #41 in TV Guide’s list of the “50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time” (20 June 2004 issue).
- “West Beverly” does not exist. Beverly Hills High School would not allow the use of their name in the series.
- There was not one character who appeared in all 296 episodes.

Wow. That was a long time ago. I remember when I started watching it. We were always one season behind in Germany! I loved Brandon but always had a thing for Dylan. 🙂
