How are you going to celebrate National Margarita Day?? Are you a salted-rim type of person; frozen; fruity?
Here is a recipe idea I came across in my travels to help get you on your way to celebrating a delicious and fun holiday!
Raspberry Margarita – this one takes a bit to make, but is well worth the extra time!
What you will need:
- 2 pints fresh raspberries
- 2 3/4 cups sugar
- Juice from one lime (for puree)
- Zest from 3 limes (for lime sugar)
- 1 lime wedge (for lime sugar)
- 2 cups tequila
- 1/2 cup triple sec
- 2 limes (for margarita)
- Ice
How to make it: Put the raspberries, 1/4 cup of sugar, and juice from one lime into a medium saucepan. Cook covered over low heat for about 20 minutes.
While that is cooking, take 2 cups of sugar and the lime zest and mix together. Wet the rims of the margarita glasses with the lime wedge and dip the rims into the lime sugar!
In a blender, mix together 1 cup tequila, 1/4 cup triple sec, 1/4 cup sugar, and juice from one lime. Add the ice and blend until smooth. Add the fruit mixture/puree above and serve 4 of your favorite friends! Add the remaining ingredients to make 4 more delicious margaritas!
What is your favorite kind of margarita? Ole!
{Please, as always, drink responsibly!}
