My mom has to be my biggest fan (thanks mama!). She always thinks of me and Pellerini Proclaims, sending me articles and emails that she thinks would be great content for a future post. I love it! This week, Mom sent me some interesting food tidbits and tricks. Check them out below!
- After you unpack your bananas, you should take them apart so they don’t ripen too fast (that is, unless you want them to ripen faster!)
- You know how the peppers have bumps? The ones with four bumps are better for cooking because they are firmer. The ones with only three bumps are sweeter and better for eating. I need to count my bumps next time!
- When cooking ground beef, add a bit of water. It will help to pull the grease away from the beef.
- Wrap open chunks of cheese in aluminum foil – they will last a lot longer!
- Ever try to measure peanut butter or some other sticky substance, but it gets all messy and half of it is stuck in the measuring spoon/cup? Fill the cup or spoon with hot water, spill it out, but don’t dry it. THEN put in the sticky substance and see how easy it comes out!
- If you are like me, and get eaten by mosquitos all the time, just put a dryer sheet in your pocket! (I haven’t tried this but totally will!!!)
Thanks Mama for these great tips!! XOXO
